About the home

Trelawney House is a spacious, detached residence for up to 12 happy holiday makers! It is just a short walk to local surf beaches and the town centre, with a plethora of shops and restaurants. You can walk in about five minutes to Summerleaze beach in Bude or take a longer walk to Widemouth bay along the cliffs tops stopping at The Bay View Inn for a pint of Cornish ale or a cream tea. From here you can sit on the balcony and appreciate the panoramic views or watch the sun set into the sea. Spectacular!

The house has large spacious rooms, yet retains a sense of cosiness with its half panelled walls, logburners and plenty of hideaway places to retreat to! There are three reception rooms plus conservatories to relax in. Trelawney has large, mature gardens and lovely views across the valley and overlooking the town. There are three double bedrooms (one en-suite), and three twins (two in the attic space). A lovely place for a getaway!

Trelawney sits on the hillside so offers lovely views towards Bude canal and the nature reserve. You can sit on the veranda in the evening with a glass of wine watching the children play in the spacious garden. The house has room for everyone with cosy lounges, a breakfast room, snug room and conservatories. There is room for all with six large bedrooms, two lounges and a generously sized garden mostly laid to lawn. There is a a patio from the conservatory ideal for barbeques. Trelawney House is ideally placed to walk to Summerleaze beach and take in the cliff walks. The local pubs are walkable too, for that cool pint of cornish ale or a traditional cornish cream tea.

Stepping out of the back door onto the attractive veranda with pergola above overlooking the garden and to the views beyond. To the side of the house is a large patio which steps down to the garden, which is mostly laid to lawn with trees and mature shrubs and plants popping up in different areas to add great appeal. It is of a good size and perfect for those sunny afternoons with a BBQ to end the day. Children can be free to spread their wings and breathe in the fresh Cornish air. To the front of Trelawney House is ample parking for several cars.

25% Deposit required to secure booking.
Full balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival date.
Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required before arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Cancellation insurance is recommended to be taken out by the holiday maker in case of any unforeseen circumstances.

The West Country / Cornwall region

Cornwall is in the South West of England and offers rugged coastlines offering over 125 beaches popular for surfers and families. There are moorlands such as Dartmoor and its famous prison, lakes and rivers. Cornwall is renowned for its historic buildings including The Minack Theatre, St Michaels Mount and Restormel Castle are just a few examples. The steep climb up English Heritage’s stone staircase at Tintagel is worth every step - the island offers breathtaking views and some remaining walls of King Arthur’s castle, where the Knights of the Round Table once met. Boscastle is just a few miles from Tintagel an idyllic village with craft shops and museums, a truly impressive walk to the natural harbour lined with colossal cliffs.Cornwall is a true gem and not to be missed!

The Bude / Upton area

Bude is a popular, welcoming, seaside resort in the north of Cornwall surrounded by several beautiful beaches, with excellent waves for surfers. There are incredible cliffs which offer interesting walks along the 600+ mile Cornwall coastal path and are also ideal to cycle along. At Summerleaze beach, there is a sea water pool and a play area for children, there is also ‘Life’s a Beach’ cafe, which is open in the evenings as well as during the day and a beach shop. At Crooklets beach, there is a cafe, a skate park, car parking, and the Bude Life Saving Club is also situated here. Upton, Widemouth Bay and Black Rock to the south, and Northcott and Sandymouth to the north, are further beaches near to Bude, with over five miles of sandy shores at low tide between them. Widemouth is the local surf nirvana, and looks out towards Lundy Island and 3000 miles of Atlantic Ocean!

Travelling southbound on the M5 leave at Junction 31 towards Okehampton A30.
Follow the A30 for 27 miles, take the A386 exit towards Plymouth/Holsworthy A3079 Tavistock/Bude.
Turn right at A386.
At mini roundabout take the 1st exit A3079/Holsworthy road.
Continue to follow the A3079.
Turn left at A3072.
Turn right at A388/Chapel st continue to follow the A388.
Turn left at A3072/Western Road.
Turn left at A3072/Bridge st,

Take the 2nd right onto A3073/Stratton Rd
Straight over roundabout near Morrisons
