Home description
This is an extremely spacious studio, with a separate hallway entrance, a sizeable bathroom with a bathtub as well as shower attachment and a very well-equipped kitchen. The large corner sofa in the main room converts very easily into a large, comfortable double-bed. Bedding, towels, utensils, dinner-plates and so on are all provided. There is wardrobe and cupboard space and a dining-area that seats 4 very comfortably. The studio is perfect for the single business traveller or tourist couple; if required, a camp-bed can be added for a child.or for two friends travelling together.
Two very similar studio apartments are available and, in such a central location in the Erkel district, they are great bargains! At this price, two couples travelling together could book one each! The apartment block is new, the studios are both on the 7th floor and there is a modern lift. The office of the building managers is downstairs if you have any needs.
Budapest is a beautiful and fascinating city, and there is plenty to see and do both day and night time to suit every taste. There are plenty of local amenities. A car is not necessary, owing to the central location of the studio but, if required, there is a dedicated secure parking area.

Every taste is catered for in beautiful Budapest - culture, history, music, restaurants, coffee culture, restaurants and a dizzying night life. Your sterling turned into forints will go quite a long way. What's more, it is a city of festivals. What better time to rent an apartment? To name a few:
Budapest Spring Festival March - April. A long-established annual cultural event involving top-class Hungarian and foreign artists. Takes place over several days in March, particularly in the second half of the month. The varied program includes ballet, music, opera, theater, and folk dance performances as well as special exhibitions. www.fesztivalvaros.hu
Sziget (Island) Multicultural Youth Festival Mid-August. Budapest’s version of Woodstock is central Europe’s largest pop/rock/world music festival. Staged on Óbudai Island. www.sziget.hu
Summer on the Chain Bridge July-August. On summer weekends the Chain Bridge closes to traffic at each end of the bridge. Free, live music performances ranging from classical to jazz and ethnic, take place trhroughout the day.
Festival of Folk Arts Mid-August. Displays and sales of folk art and crafts from different regions of Hungary. Held in the Castle District.
Jewish Summer Festival Late August to early September. Concerts, films, book displays, food days, and exhibitions celebrating Budapest’s Jewish culture and community. Held in the city’s main synagogue and elsewhere. www.jewishfestival.hu
In July/August, there is also the Hungarian Firmula One Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, where apparently you can always see 80% of the track.
Budapest / District 8 area
Erkel district is very near the heart of Budapest. It is named after the 19th century composer, Ferenc Erkel, the father of Hungarian Grand Opera, and the writer of the Hungarian National Anthem. No doubt the path in the shape of a treble clef in the garden of Erkel House, where the studio apartments are located, is a tribute to him. Erkel House is just round the corner from the Erkel Theatre. It is only a 12 minute walk to the underground in Blaha Luzja Square, named after the Hungarian actress of the same period. In this Square, you can enjoy the "coffee culture" of the traditional, but recently refurbished, Gerbeaud Cafe, first established in 1858. In the adjacent pub, you can also enjoy a traditional Hungarian meal with fresh draught Pilsener beer. Alternatively, there is also a Macdonald's on the corner!
Two stops on the underground will take you to Deak Ferenc, named after the 19th century statesman, the "Wise Man of the Nation". This it the very heart of the city. Here, you can walk down the famous Andrassy Boulevard, for more "coffee culture" and shopping, and also see the beautiful Hungarian State Opera House. From Deak Ferenc, you can also walk to the Cathedral of St. Stephen, the ninth century founder of Hungary, and see the relic of his fist enshrined in a glass case. However, you may prefer the Venetian mosaics.
Deak Ferenc is a major intersection of all 3 Budapest underground lines, so from here a few more stops will take you to Heroes Square and the Museum of Fine Arts, or anywhere else in Budapest.
How to get there
The apartment is very centrally located. It is situated in Erkel district, very close to the city centre. It takes about 12 minutes to walk to Blaha Lujza (red line) underground station.
