Home description
This beautiful apartment is situated in the very heart of Budapest. Newly renovated with high ceilings and a stunning oak staircase leading up to the mezzanine. Suitable for couples or families. Sleeps 4, and spare beds are available for two children and a baby cot can be arranged at no additional cost.
The apartment has the added advantage of keeping cool during the summer as the thick stone walls of this nineteenth century listed building are very efficient at withstanding the relentless heat. Would you decide to stay with us, you will be surrounded by exquisite bars and restaurants. There is small Cafe opposite suitable for a quick breakfast, and there are several others in the vicinity for a more leisurely start to your day.
The Danube, all three underground lines, the Parliament and the famous Basilica (www.basilica.hu) are all within a few minutes walk from the building. Enjoy the romantic charm of Budapest during the day, then relax in the luxury of the jacuzzi before planning your next step in the exploration of this wonderful city.

The Central Hungary/Danube region
The Budapest and Central Danube Region has a population of almost 3 million. The most important attractions include the world-famous Buda Castle on the north side of the Danube. There are over 90 major museums in the region including local history collections. Budapest is well known for its numerous medicinal baths, which constitute one of its main tourist attractions. For more information please consult your tourist guide!
Budapest / District 5 area
Budapest’s 5th district is quite simply the beating heart of the city. An address here is a much sought after status symbol. It is home to the neo-gothic Hungarian Parliament building and the Basilica. In addition it is also the location of the city’s premier shopping area, Váci utca and Vörösmarty tér.
There cannot be many tram rides even in the great cities of the world where it is possible to see all the best tourist attractions. In Budapest, though, a ride on the number 2 tram is just such and the tram stops a couple of minutes walk away from the apartment by the bank of the Danube.
In the vicinity of the apartman is my favourite restaurant Cafe Kor located in Sas Street, which is a side street off the Basilica. Fantastic food at reasonable prices. It is very popular so make sure you book in advance.
How to get there
There are several flights to Budapest, Easyjet being the most cost-effective if travelling from London Luton. I do not recommend hiring a car if you stay in the centre of Budapest, as parking is expensive, while public transport is cheap and efficient.
How to travel from the airport: by taxi: Zonataxi costs 21 EUR, no need to book; by public transport: a bus service (bus 200) operates between the airport and Köbánya-Kispest metro terminal. The bus takes approximately 20 minutes from terminal 2 and about 10 minutes from terminal 1 to this 'blue line' Metro terminal. Take the Metro to Arany J utca, which is a stop on the same blue line. The journey on the Metro will take about 25 minutes.
