The Central Hungary/Danube region
Budapest is one of the most fascinating capital cities of Europe, with plenty of diverse activities on offer - it has it all for a wonderful city break!
Budapest is divided into two, with Buda on the west and Pest on the east. Many bridges connect the two cities, the most beautiful is the Chain Bridge designed by the Scottish engineer Adam Clark. Buda with its castle on the hill, serene old houses, squares, cathedral and cafes is the older of the two and well worth a cultural visit, meanwhile Pest has most of the museums, the Opera and Operetta houses, parks and pedestrian areas with excellent coffee shops and restaurants.. beside that, he city has a fantastic bathing culture with many thermal bathes to explore.
Budapest area
The apartment is situated in an area which provides unrivaled transport links - a 2 minutes walk from Deak ter, where all 3 metro lines join - providing guests with great access to all parts of the city of Budapest.
The apartment is located in a quiet single traffic way parallele street to world famous Andrassy boulevard, in immediate vicinity to great cafés, excellent restaurants and fashionable shops.
Vaci Street, the famous pedestrian shopping area, is a 5 minutes walk away, same for he river Danube with its relaxing river side walks.
A few of the places I would recommend:
Hero's Square is a must for anyone visiting Budapest. A vast paved area with fabulous museums at either side and adorned with the statues of the Heros and Leaders from times past.
Hungarian Bathes, such as Szecheny, in the park behind Hero Square. Both indoor and outdoor pools, massages on request.
Margaret Island, a recreational area of green parks and woodland, with bathes and concert locations in summer, in the middle of the Danube, in the city centre.
Liszt Ferenc square and Raday utca, full of great restaurants and bars.
St Stephens Basilica, which is a monumental building of architectural brilliance.
How to get there
Budapest is easy to reach: in the centre of Europe, most airlines including low cost airlines fly into the modern Ferhegy airport, in easy reachable distance to town.
Railway system is excellent in Eastern Europe in general, and within Hungary, with easy links to all major capitals.
Coaches complete the excellent network ...
There are many easy ways to come to Budapest and enjoy this wonderful city!
Travelling to Budapest has never been easier with a wealth of established airlines flying in and out of Ferihegy Airport, which is a thirty minutes drive into the centre of the City. Budget airlines are competing for business and so prices are very reasonable, with services from most European Cities. The cheapest operator, easyjet (www.easyjet.com) and Wizz Air (The Hungarian Low Cost Carrier), www.wizzair.com, operate daily services to Budapest from major European cities.
Airport 25 km, airport minibus (10 EUR), local taxi availabile at the airport (18 - 20 EUR).

Testimonial: Paulay Ede apartment, Budapest
Thank you very much to enable us to stay at your apartment in Paulay Ede utca, Budapest. The apartment is extremely spacious, and the very high ceilings give it a fabulous feel. All the furniture, mechanical equipment and bathroom appointments are of high quality, and they all worked.
We were very grateful for you arranging transport to and from the airport. It made our experience all the nicer, and avoided hassles for us.
We were very comfortable throughout our 2 week stay. The apartment, the building and the street are all very quiet. The location is excellent – no more than a 3 minute walk to the centre of Budapest , and Andrassy Avenue with its beautiful buildings and shops was even closer. We were able to walk to all the locations.
It was nice to have a variety of restaurants in the street - Paulay Ede utca, so that if we wanted, we could eat there. Even so, on many evenings, we ate in the apartment, because it had all the facilities and was easy to do. Supermarket shopping was available close by.
There is no doubt that we would seek to rent the apartment again upon our return to Budapest.
