About this location

The Central Hungary region

Budapest reminds me of Boston, its an easy walking city providing everything from wonderful restaurants to music to theatre to spas. There are museums to occupy you during the day or a thermal spa bath in which to relax and recover your joy de vie. In the evening you can go to the opera (a short walk away), or one of the many concerts. During the summer there is the Sziget Festival or Formula One. What Budapest also has is World Heritage status. The whole of the central downtown area plus the castle district is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site and monument area. The apartment is located in the centre of that.

If there was one thing that could capture the spirit of the city it would be an evening walk from the apartment across the Danube and then a short ride up the funicular railway to the castle. A view over the city from the castle is just a wonderful sight and captures the essence of the city.

For those not that keen on walking it has an eclectic mix of transport, ranging from the oldest metro on the continent to trolley buses, trams, boat tours and even a Segway tour. Beside the apartment is a cycle hire facility and also the start of the city cycle tour.

Further afield, apart from the cultural heritage of Székesfehérvár where 15 former rules of Hungary are buried, or Gy?r, Debrecen or Pécs. It is just a 2 hour car journey to Vienna or Bratislava, or four hours to Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Romania or Ukraine.

"Perfect apartment, perfect location, perfect stay!"

My boyfriend and I stayed in Sas Utca for an extended weekend and it was wonderful!
Janos was there waiting to pick us up at the airport, and take us to the apartment which was in such a perfect location - right in the centre and walkable distance from everywhere!
The apartment itself was so cosy and warm. Such high ceilings and such a beautiful space we felt spoiled! The kitchen was so well equipt, and it felt so homely. The bath tub as well was something special - nothing quite like getting into a hot bath after spending the day outdoors in the cold!
Alastair was so helpful with his information on Budapest, and checking in to make sure we were happy with everything. He reccomended we visit the Rudas baths on our stay- a reccomendation which I must pass on as it was a lovely experience! Not too touristy and a wonderful atmosphere.
You couldn't ask for a better location or apartment, it was such a fantastic trip. I just wish we were there for longer!

"Excellent apartment in a central, lively neighborhood"

Last september we (4 persons) stayed at this large, beautiful apartment. It comes
with two (!) separate bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped and we did some
cooking. One of the nicest things was Janos picking us up from the Keleti railway station.
He was a great help to us.

"Fantastic place, fantastic location. Far exceeded our expectations!!!"

We stayed for a week at this place with son and girlfriend. We had ample space in this fantastic, high ceiling loft . The kitchen was great, hot water heat kept the place cozy warm. The parquet floor and red leather sofas were cool. The owner was extremely helpful with my unending questions. He even had his apt manager meet us att the train station and assist us with getting to the apt after a long train trip, a wonderful touch when arriving at night in a strange country. I loved Budapest and would definitely stay at this place again.

"Heel fijn adres om te verblijven"

Het begon allemaal helemaal verkeerd. Een van onze koffers was niet meegekomen uit Amsterdam. We hebben lang bij de balie moeten staan. Ondanks dat was Janos (beheerder en chauffeur) gelukkig blijven … More

This apartment is in a fabulous location for those wishing to explore this delightful city. It is clean, comfortable and offers everything one needs from a well designed kitchen to a sumptuous soak in the corner bath to banish those aches away . You could, if desired, cook a roast dinner! However, with the vast choice of eateries available why bother! Cafe Kor is No 17 Sas Utca and well worth a visit to. For those with a hearty appetite try the Sir Lancelot Restaurant for something very different!
Transfers are stress free, Janos collected us from the airport and although his English is limited he kindly pointed out various landmarks and is very helpful, please be patient and take the time to speak slowly and he will understand. The owner, Alistair is charming and well organised.
Budapest is a lovely place, steeped in history there is much to see and do. If you are into sightseeing and walking this is the place to visit and the apartment is the best place to do it from. Enjoy - we did!

"Right in the heart of the city, best location possible."

We had a great time in Budapest and thie apartment's location was a major factor - everything is on your doorstep. The apartment has all you need. Sometimes when you see picture of an apartment you feel let down - but NOT here. A home away from home (other reviewers have mentioned this and it's true). We'll be back when we are back in Budapest. Thanks Alastair!
