The Central Hungary/Danube region

Often described as the "Little Paris of Middle Europe", Budapest is famous not only for the monuments reflecting its own 1,000-year-old culture, but also for the relics of others who settled here. Remains from both Roman occupation and much later ruled by the Turks can still be seen in the city. After the Ottoman Empire the union with Austria has a particular influence on the city's form and style.

The capital has two sides, Buda and Pest, stretching along the banks of the Danube, representing two different characters of the city.

Suburban Buda and its historic castle district offer medieval streets and houses, museums, caves and Roman ruins. The dynamic Pest side boasts the largest parliament building in Europe, riverside promenades, flea markets, bookstores, antique stores and café houses.

Budapest has a lot to offer. Museums and galleries, churches and synagogues, palaces and historic buildings, baths and pools are presented together with the influence of Secession in the city.

There is an unmistakable feeling that something out of the ordinary is just around the corner, but what it will be is up to you to find out ......

Budapest

District 5 is the very center of Budapest with all the turist attractions at walking distance. A few places of interest that are a few staps from our apartment:

The Great Synagogue

SynagogueThis synagogue is the second largest in the world (after the one in New York). It has three naves and following orthodox tradition, separate galleries for women. Together the naves and galleries can accommodate up to 3,000 worshippers. It is also a focal point of Budapest's thriving Jewish community, which holds an annual festival in and around the impressive building. The Jewish Museum can also be find here, and the Holocaust Documentation and Memorial Centre is an important and powerful reminder of one of the darkest periods in European history.

Hungarian National Museum

Founded on the personal collection of philanthropist Count Ferenc Széchenyi, the National Museum has been home to a stunning array of Hungarian art since 1802. The artwork and artefacts on the inside are equally impressive and include St Stephen's coronation cloak and huge frescoes and wall friezes.

Dining and Nightlife

Today's Budapest is very much a cosmopolitan city - you can find any type of food from anywhere in the world. Most restaurants offer a mixture of Hungarian and international flavors and required to display their prices outside their doors, so you always know what to expect before you take the plunge.

Bars, lounges, nightclubs and cool open-air places that are open for the public in summer are at walking distance in the streets around our apartment.

"Very, very good"

We spent a long weekend in Budapest with my wife and choose to stay in this apartment.
Pictures do not really show how great it is, we are very happy to found it; we will be certainly back here at our next visit. The only downside is parking the car around the building, but if you do not have a car it is perfect.
Hosts were helpful and flexible, the location is excellent right in the middle of everything yet in a quiet side street. Very good accomodation.

Thank you, we hope to have you back!

"Fantastic appartment, perfect location!"

Spent a fantastic week in Budapest and this place served as a perfect base for exploring all this city had to offer. Very nicely decorated and furnished if a little femmine but as modern men we appreciated the effort and attention to detail! Its location is great and the best reasturant/cafe we found all week is less than a minute round the corner. Dealing with Hajnal was a pleasure, would and will reccomend this place to anyone. Thanks.

Thank you, I am glad you guys enjoyed your stay. Hope to have you back!
