Next to the apartment at the corner of Rakoczi ut and Erzsebet korut you will find a big supermarket, Match.

Downstairs at the metro station there is a non-stop buffet as well,If it comes in your mind during the night to buy something to drink, or cigarettes or anything.

On Erzsebet Korut a main street, turning right from the supermarket, just a few blocks beyond the synagogue, there is an outstanding example of art deco, in what has been called The New Yorker Cafe it's still in business to go in, for tea (and great pastries) or lunch the interior is amazing, my favourite place to have breakfast..Just Love it!

If you take tram 4, 6 towards Petofi hid, take 2 stops, take off at Baross utca you will find a really good restaurant, not touristic where I always go when I am in Budapest, name: Stex, highly recommended.

Other one, if you take tram 4,6 two stops towards Margit hid, take off at stop Kiraly utca, left side of the boulevard on Kiraly utca you will find "Frici Papa vendegloje" it's a little very very simple restaurant, but with extremely good food! You will see, it's always full!

To go to Ferenciek tere, Vaci utca, take the bus 7 from the front of the apartment, right next to the supermarket Match, for three stops!.

To the Oktogon square you take the 4,6 tram for 3 stops and you are there, find the Andrassy street, on the left side you will find the Opera and Moulin Rouge, on the right side if you walk down the street you will find the Terror house, and at the and the Heroes Square, maybe for the that one, is better to take the metro 1 "foldalatti" for few stops.

If you want to go to the Parliament you can go by metro red line from the apartment and take off at Kossuth ter. (in 5-6 minutes you are there), after looking the parliament, you can take the tram 2 (panoramic tram ) and go till the Nemzeti szinhaz- National Theatre - amazing!

Ah, and don't miss the Szechenyi spa.

The Central Hungary/Danube region

Have you heard of the Magyar people, or their nation of Magyarorszag? It's Hungary, the exotic Central European nation whose beautiful capital of Budapest will surprise you with its beauty, affordable luxury and unique history. Gypsy music fills the air; scenic vistas are everywhere; old and new mix in a cultural blend that makes Budapest an excellent destination to put high on your travel list.

This city on the Danube is different from the other great capitals of Europe in a pleasant old-fashioned way that fills it with authentic charms. Two thousand years of invasion, liberation, re-occupation, devastation and rebirth, played out over and over again in a cycle of history, have somehow produced this unique culture. Lack of money has prevented that squeaky-clean modernization machine to roll through town, the way it has recently glitzed up so many other cities on the continent.

As a result, some buildings are run-down, plaster is peeling and roads are bumpy, but the beautiful reward for the intrepid traveller is a genuine city filled with real character. A wide variety of architectural styles are on display, sometimes combined in the unique Hungarian Eclectic that blends elements of Classical, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau in a single building.

Budapest consists of the formerly separate communities of Buda on the western bank of the Danube and Pest on the east. Built on a hill, Buda contains the former Royal Palace and the old Castle District. Pest stands on a level plain and is the site of the main shopping areas, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Palace of Justice, Parliament, and the National Museum. No other city along Europe's longest river embraces it as much as Budapest, with nine bridges linking the two sides, and a major promenade along the river offering sweeping views.

Sounds great, doesn't? You will not be disappointed.

There could be no better way to wrap up your visit to Budapest than with dinner at Gundel, widely recognized as the best in town. This grand, traditional restaurant has been revitalized in recent years by the new ownership of cosmetics heir, Ronald Lauder, and famed restaurateur, George Lang, who also operates Café des Artistes in New York. Reasonably-priced gourmet dining, with gypsy music at night, in sumptuous surroundings, either indoors or out, will complete your perfect three days and nights.

Gundel Restaurant is just around the corner for an excellent dinner, or if you happen to arrive hungry at mid-day, take advantage of their reasonably-priced three-course lunch special. If you are not yet ready to eat you could take a walk in City Park, across the square. It has a zoo, many rolling lawns, little ponds, a fantasy castle, skating rink, restful benches, a chapel, museums of agriculture and transportation, baths with thermal springs, a circus and a fun fair. This popular recreation spot could keep you busy all evening, but you will probably be hungry soon.

I live in the US, New York and work in the financial industry. I travel a lot on business, as my job requires me to spend a lot of time abroad. Given that I spend significant time away the place I am renting pretty much has to be a home away from home. I have extremely high standard of expectations when it comes to renting a place. Needless to say I prefer apartments over hotels. In Magdi's place I found everything I need which allows me to be productive at work, relax after a long day, feel safe around the location. This place is everything you want, whether you are on vacation or on business. The area is very central and most importantly safe (I think it is very important if you are a foreigner), the kitchen is fully equipped, wifi is included (this is essential for me). The apartment is very modern, has great furnishings, very comfortable beds, very quiet, there is no street noise. In the city center in Pest it is almost impossible to find a quiet apartment as there is a lot of traffic. On top of it Magdi is extremely attentive, if I have questions, requests she can pretty much accommodate me. She makes good recommendations if a restaurant opens around the area and many times I take advantage of it because I have to entertain clients , colleagues, she can arrange for taxis, transportations, and pretty much for anything. Needless to say this is a place I frequently use, I return about 2-3 times a year to this location. So take my advice and if there is availability (I know it quickly sells out, because of the location, price, luxury) book it right away, you will not be disappointed. I truly highly recommend this apartment.

I am very pleased about your amazing review and beautiful words. Every guests are important for me, but as you are my regular one, it is even a huge pleasure to know that you will continue to come back. Looking forward to welcome you again. Have a Happy New Year, see you soon, Kisses: Magdalena

"Great base in Budapest"

We spent a nice week in Budapest and used Casa del Sole as our base. The flat is huge and is more than enough space for 2 people - would easily accommodate many more. Everything we needed was there and the owner was helpful and prompt with replies. We would definitely recommend this spot.

Dear Kate, thank you for your kind words. Looking forward to welcome you again! It was a pleasure to have you as my guests!

"Affordable Comfort"

Casa del Sole was a very comfprtable, affordable way for our family to travel to Budapest. We have 3 children; the location of the apartment made it easy to get to the Metro and to a local grocery store, and we were close enough to all of the attractions that we wanted to see that we were able to walk. The outside of the building is deceiving however we found the apartment safe, clean, and in a great location. In addition, Magdalena was very helpful in helping us plan our itinerary ahead of time and was accessible throughout our trip in case we needed anything. We were very happy with our stay here!

I was really happy to get to know you. Your children was really kind and well-educated too. Thank you, and hope to welcome you again in the future!

"This is a wonderful, excellently equipped, comfortable, large apartment ina very central location!"

Staying in Magdelena's apartment is like being welcomed into her home! It is very large - separate kitchen, bathroom with a toilet and a separate toilet, separate lounge/dining room with sofa beds and a large comfortable double bedroom. It is cheerful and clean with good internet connections. It is in a great part of town - close enough to walk to the train station and to interesting sights - and also very close to the metro station. We loved our stay here!!

"Awesome Budapest!"

I've stayed in Budapest for 4 days, in "Casa del Sole", and all has been wonderful: the home is huge, modern, very clean and has all the things that make you feel as at your home, and really is located in the centre of Budapest! On the home's street, at about 40 metres, there are bus stops, metro stops and also, and this was in my opinion the best thing, the stop of tram 4 and 6, that work 24h and connect the all centre of budapest, including disco clubs.
Finally a special thanks goes to Magdolna, the owner, that has been great, from the moment of the booking of the apartment and also during our staying; she is very helpful and she gave us a lot of advices to make our holiday perfect! So i could just recommend absolutely this home for a wonderful stay in Budapest!
