City Nook
About the home
It is a chic and fun apartment on the 3rd floor of a typical historic city building. The building is well maintained and has an elevator with an internal courtyard that is very quiet and shady. Each of the three bedrooms (one with a balcony) has its unique and characteristic decoration matched with a similarly coloured bathroom.
The "Cookie" room looks out on the courtyard and has a double bed on a gallery and a single bed beneath it. The gallery double bed can also be made into two singles with the use of a divider, single duvets are also provided. This room has an en suite shower.
The "Carrot" room is our biggest room, perfect for families up to 3 children. It has two queen beds which convert to a sofa and a single futon bed and has its own designated bathroom with a bath. This room has a balcony looking out to the street.
The "Olive" room has two single beds and a double futon and also has its own designated bathroom with shower and toilet.
A lounge area with a large dining table makes up the shared facilities and it is a focal point for our guests. Adjacent to this, is a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 hob gas cooker, microwave and grill, washing machine and dishwasher. We also have a large fridge with freezer compartment.
The apartment can cater for up to 12 people (by arrangement) either as a group or shared between guests with the assured convenience of all guests having their own privacy if and when required with lockable rooms and bathrooms.

The city of Budapest is divided by the Danube into the 'hilly' Buda and the 'flat' Pest. Both sides have their unique attractions and the beautiful bridges are well worth a walk across to appreciate the river and its surroundings.
The Budapest / District 7 area
The apartment on Dohany Street, District 7, is situated in the very heart of Budapest City centre, close to the historical monuments, the pedestrian area and the banks of the Danube.
The inner half of district 7 was the historic Jewish quarter of Pest. The Dohány Street Synagogue, the largest functioning Jewish temple in Europe, is located in this district. This historic quarter of Budapest contains several synagogues, bakeries, restaurants, bars and hotels. Located close to the City Centre, two minutes walk from the Blaha Lujza Metro and trams and buses on Erzsebet Korut.
The summer attractions in Budapest include the Formula 1 Grand Prix and the Sziget music festival (11th to 16th August), both easily reachable via the excellent public transport system in Budapest.

Budapest is served by most of the major airlines, British Airways, Malev etc landing and departing from Ferihegy 2A/2B and most of the budget airlines (Easyjet, Wizz Air) landing and departing from Ferihegy 1 which are about a mile apart by road and a 30 minute drive from the apartment.
There is a good taxi service (all the cars have black + white checkered logo's, Government regulated) with a fixed charge to the city (approx 25 Euro) or alternatively you can use the Airport mini bus service which is cheaper than the taxi and will drop you of at the apartment address.

Lovely central apartment. Felt very safe around the area. Courtyard area quite stark, but neighbours were lovely and welcoming. The apartment was perfect for our family group of adults (8). Well equipped, clean and spacious. Nick was there when we arrived to show us around the place and suggested us some great bars which were as good as he said. We left all the details on the fridge as requested. Really enjoyed our trip and hope to be back in the summer. |
