This is a Romantic, light and comfortable flat in a 19th Century solid building in the perfect location - right in the privileged Castle area. .

It is a few steps from the most magical places in Budapest: the Matyas Cathedral, the Fishermen's Bastion and the panorama over the Danube. There are many museums within a short walk: for example, the museum of the History of Budapest and the Bartok museum as well as the Wine Museum - with tastings; you will find also the Catacombs (when you get to the centre you will find a wine fountain!), the Hospital in the Rock (used during WWII) and the Art Gallery in the Hapsburg Palace as well as many little art galleries in courtyards.

You can stroll everywhere in this area - cars are by permit only, so it is safe and peaceful. To get to other parts of Budapest there are 3 little buses which circulate every few minutes. One takes you to the metro and trams (in 4 minutes) and the other two across the Chain bridge to Pest (8 minutes). Or you can take the funicular railway down to the Danube.

The castle area has always been a civilized cultured area. The cafes, wine bars and restaurants in the streets of the Castle area are all of a high standard and you can find everything from inexpensive and homely Hungarian food to the finest cuisine Budapest has to offer.

The flat has a large living room with possibly the world's most comfortable sofa, an additional double sofa bed and a kitchen area with pretty plates and mugs ceramic hob, microwave and washing machine. There is a downstairs double bedroom and up the spiral stairs is a mezzanine with another double bed.

There is a self-service general shop nearby where you can find fresh fruit and salads as well as health foods, fine chocolates and jam, fresh rolls and coffee for your breakfast. The upper floor is dedicated to a sophisticated range of Hungarian wines and palinkas (the Hungarian brandy which has many varieties). There is a little bakery down a passage by the flat if you would like fresh cherry strudel or potato scones before you set out to explore.

There are also a number of craft shops, a folk market and places to find antique glass and jewellery.

Ten minutes walk takes you to where you can take an ON-OFF tour bus which will orient you to the whole of Budapest, including a boat trip down the Danube.

The space is ideal for a romantic couple break, a business retreat or a small family.

Agnes is Hungarian born and is delighted to make sure that you have a lovely time.
