Rathcolla Apartment is well located besides the Opera and has been carefully designed to give you a contemporary feel but retaining the elegance of these historic buildings. It has a high standard of furnishings and is in the heart of the downtown area with lots of restaurants, coffee shops within immediate reach. Your apartment has a large entrance area, luxury kitchen, a spacious lounge, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. After you have stayed in our lovely apartment you will not want to pack your bags and go home!

The Central Hungary/Danube region

The weather in Budapest is characterised by warm summers and short cold winters so there is nothing to stop you from visiting the city at any time of the year! Winter weather has a different character to the summer with a cold crisp air. The city has rainfall spread quite evenly over the entire year but the driest months are January, March and September. It is best to take an umbrella for showers in any case.
The spring weather starts around April with temperatures around 20º in Spring and Autumn. The weather remains mild until November.
Summer temperatures can be around 27º or higher. The long summers can have a festive atmosphere and is the most popular time to visit the city.

Budapest / District 6 area

District 6 is part of the Cosmopolitan Downtown area of Budapest. In this are you have an array of restaurants to choose from, designer shops and much more including the famous Opera House located beside our apartment. Andrassy Avenue is also the starting point of the city bus tours.

Other attractions in the general Budapest area are:

OPERA HOUSE Andrássy út; 'The House of Terror': OPERA HOUSE (Opera) Andrássy út (The Opera is immediately beside our apartment) The Hungarian National Opera was built in 1884 to an Italian Renaissance design and is located. Guided tours take visitors around the building with its gilt and marble decoration and the lavish and intricate frescos.

House of Terror: At 60 Andrássy Ut is a controversial but very popular museum called the House of Terror. The museum is the former headquarters of the secret police of the former Nazi and Communist governments and illustrates the grim decades of Nazi and Communist rule. The House of Terror is open (we think!) Tuesday-Friday, 10:00 to 18:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-19:30, closed Monday.

SzéchenyiBaths,Statue Park: Széchenyi Baths were built in 1913 to a neo-baroque design with its yellow walls is one of the largest spa complexes in Europe. It has nine pools including three outside. Statue Park. After the fall of Communism in 1989 many of the old Communist statues were removed and rather than dispose of them they were taken to a park to have them in display.

Other Activities: From the City: City Bus Tours, Thermal Baths. Boat trips. Also within 30 minutes drive is Fishing, Golf, Horse riding, Mountain biking, Water skiing.

Each bathroom has attractive modern fittings and furniture. They are fully tiled. The main bathroom connects from the entrance dining area and the front bedroom.

From the second floor landing you enter the kitchen and dining area of this superb apartment. This area is fitted with a luxury Alno kitchen, a tiled floor and has a fridge freezer, dishwasher, hob and oven and washing machine/drier in the bathroom. You have a dining table for 6 people & access to the main bathroom. The living room has comfortable sofas, a marble fireplace with an electric coal effect fire, 105cm flat screen Cable TV. We have fitted 2 Air Conditioning units in the apartment.

Additional information about rental rates

* **In addition to the Rental Fee there is a fixed laundry charge of €20 for 2 people; €30 for up to 4 people and €35 for up to 6 people in the apartment. This is our laundry cleaning Charge for all bookings.

**The rent shown for Rathcolla Apartment is for 2 people. Each additional person is charged at €10 per day or €50 per complete week.

** The rental rates shown are Exclusive of 3% Tourist Tax which is added to the prices.

**We request a 30% deposit at the time of making the booking. The balance of the rental amount is due to be paid 2 months before the rental start date. If the booking is made inside this time then the entire amount is due. We request a fully refundable (in the event of no damage) security deposit of €400 at the time the final payment is made.

**** Rental periods are from 16:00 on the starting day to 10:00 on the final day.

We rented the apartment for our stay during the Sziget festival and it was to prove the ideal retreat for rest and recuperation in between trips to the festival site.
Four of us stayed in the apartment very comfortably indeed, we were very impressed at the very high standard of decoration, furnishings and the way that the apartment was stocked with all the essentials. I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a central location in Budapest.

We stayed in the apartment for 9 days. We had a great time. The apartment is very spacious even if you are with 6 persons. The apparent is air-conditioned and has 2 bathrooms. Everything is there such as towels etc. The apparment is close to a metro station and you are in a good neighbourhood. There are restaurants and shops nearby.

We really had a glimpse of the luxury life in down town Budapest in this apartment. Our stay here in these luxurious surroundings was cheaper than staying in a middle class hotel for all five of us.

It is very good facilities for eating and relaxing in the dining- and living-rooms.
We were impressed of the furnishing and the modern, pleasant style in the apartment.

The property was very well cleaned and well-maintained, the dishwasher didn’t work at the time, but we new that before we came, and it will be repaired. The owner provided a very good customer service both when we were there, and before and after.

The apartment and the surroundings are just perfect for a stay in a big city, and it’s just a pleasure to go downstairs and a few meters along the Andrassy street to the very good store where you can buy all you need for a good self made breakfast or lunch with enough of delicious Hungarian food.
We really recommend this apartment for others, and hope we will be able to get back there again some time.

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Rathcolla apartment. Location wise, we can not think of a better location. With the Opera House right next door, we could even listen to the Opera without being "at the Opera". The apartment itself is wonderful. The rooms are large, well lit, and all furniture is very comfortable. The kitchen is well appointed with all modern appliances, pots&pans, plates, cups, etc. so we were able to eat breakfast each day at the apartment and cook lunch/dinner when not out touring. The family room area is very comfortable and is set-up nicely for watching movies and/or TV on the flat-screen TV. We would highly recommend this apartment to all visitors of Budapest.

Lovely spacious, airy apartment, tastefully decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Very well equipped, high-tech kitchen (three coffee makers and a tea pot!) and luxurious bathrooms all immaculately clean. The location couldn't be better. The apartment is on the classiest avenue in Budapest and the apartment is right on the classiest stretch. All the sights are within pleasant walking distance and there is a small 24 hour supermarket on the next corner for fresh milk, bread, groceries etc

We thoroughly recommend this apartment - it would be hard to beat for quality, style and location.

This is probably the best apartment on the best location in Budapest. A luxuries furnished apartment with two bathrooms, it is everyone’s dream! With the restaurants and bars around the corner and the opera, shops and other great sights in the same street (or more like an avenue) you really experience Budapest at the best possible way. I can’t really express in words how happy we were staying at this apartment. It was a real luxury home in the heart of Budapest. It was 10 times better of what we anticipated. The process was very smooth, the directions were easy to follow, the location could not be any better, and inside the apartment everything was perfect, clean and comfortable.
