Enjoy a sumptuous countryside welcome of fine French food, stunning scenery and complete relaxation at our stunning newly renovated cottage (completed on 30th July 2007) situated in a peaceful and tranquil setting. Surrounded by countryside and woodlands. The garden is very private with decking, Japanese pagoda, and hot tub. Outside dining facilities provided together with sun loungers. Brilliant for relaxing day or night. In the evening switch on the fairy lights and relax with a glass of wine in the hot tub. The cottage has open plan lounge and kitchen and has a wood-burning fire (there is no charge for the wood used during your stay). On arrival a complimentary welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits provided, together with complimentary wine, chocolates and fruit.
The garden is very private and the views are stunning. The inside of the cottage is renovated and decorated to a very high standard, it boasts all mod cons, including, washer, dryer, dishwasher, and all cooking utensils. The two shower rooms have hot jet jacuzzi showers. Jonquil is located in a beautiful valley and is ideal for walkers and cyclists. If you walk in the evenings you may even see wild boar and deer.

The Normandy / Manche region

There is so much to do in Normandy you probably won't have time to fit it all in. Mont St Michel is a wonderful place and was named by the Guardian Newspaper as one of the top ten most romantic places in the world to visit. If you are feeling really brave then why not visit Hacketts where you can bungee jump of the viaduct designed and built by Gustave Eiffel. If you like to shop and especially like Tres Chic boutiques why not visit Granville, you could enjoy the shops in the morning, have lunch at one of the tasty seafood restaurants and lie on the beach in the afternoon.

Brouains area

Two walk minutes from the cottage there is a watermill museum and restaurant bar, the food served is a very reasonable price and is delicious. A five minute drive from Brouains will lead you to the town of Sourdeval. Every Tuesday there is a market which sells tasty Normandy produce. You.. can also watch the cattle Auction and see the old french farmers having a race to get to their chosen animals, it is a sight not to be missed. The town has numerous bars and restaurants and some lovely little gift shops. If you have smaller children, you might like to visit the enchanted wood with all the characters from the fairy-tales. The enchanted wood is just 3kms from the cottage. The cottage has dingies available and it is great fun for the children to boat down the river. About ten minutes drive from the cottage is a Go Carting track. Brouains is a really pretty place like a little piece of heaven, it is lovely in the summer, but stunning in the winter months, why not try a winter break, the Cottage has a wood burner, full central heating and a hot tub, ideal for a romantic break - also Normandy has lots of Christmas markets which start in November - well worth a visit to buy all your Christmas pressies .

How to get there

Ryan Air low cost flights to Dinard from Stanstead and E.M.A. 1 hour 30 minutes to cottage. Very reasonable car hire rates if booked through Ryan Air). Also transfers can be arranged from Airport to accommodation.
Portsmouth -Caen car Ferry 50 minutes to cottage(Brittany Ferries)
Dover - Calais (3 hours to cottage). Various budget crossings available).

Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 double bed with facility for extra bed or cot.
Bedroom 2 double bed.
Bedroom 3 double bed also bed settee in room. En suite shower.
Bedroom 4, 1 single bed (bunk-beds available on request)
All bedrooms have drawers, wardrobes, linen provided.
Bathrooms: Ground Floor WC and washroom.
First Floor. Large shower room with Spa shower.
Second Floor. En suite shower room with Spa Shower.
Kitchen: Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, hob, oven, fridge/freezer, washer and microwave. Ironing board and iron.
The kitchen naturally, has all crockery cutlery, pans, kettle and tea towels provided.
Utility Room: Outside Utility/boiler room with electric clothes dryer and clothes airer. Household cleaning materials are also kept in this area. In addition the cottage has an outbuilding accommodating cycles and play equipment.
Living Rooms: Lounge - very spacious with two large black leather sofas and two black chairs- seating for ten people. The cottage has satellite TV video and DVD player. Also PlayStation with various games. The lounge has a dining area with large walnut dining table.
Other: The lounge has doors leading onto the decking area and garden Jonquil cottage has a delightful entrance hall with a seating area, ideal for reading and chill out area. There is a library of books, DVDs and videos in the house catering for all tastes.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: The cottage has a maid service once a week and provides linen and towels. A free welcome pack is provided upon arrival. We also offer a deluxe welcome pack which is ideal for those who are celebrating a special occasion. Please e-mail for details.

Further details outdoors:
The garden is fenced and safe for children. There are many games and activities available in the house for both young and older children. The cottage has dingies available - my children love sailing down the River in them and have endless hours of fun. We also have fishing rods available if you fancy an afternoon fishing However, for the more serious fisherman there is a lake nearby where you can catch trout for the BBQ.

The cottage has parking facilities for three cars, The drive has steps leading down to the very private garden with decking and Japanese pagada which accommodates the hot tub. Attached to the house is a storage area for bikes , dingies, and the wood for the log burner.

Further details

Bookings can be made by telephone or email. A 20% non refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and the final balance is due six weeks before departure together with a returnable deposit of £100. Last minute bookings can be arranged. There are no pets allowed at the cottage with the exception of guide dogs.

10% discount for bookings over 2 weeks. Bookings that are made for September and October (booked before 1st Sept) will receive £50 worth of gift vouchers to spend on their holiday. (1 set of vouchers per booking).
