"What a beautiful place! All the family feel well and truly rested."
The villa had by far the best view onto the lake and was just the right distance from all amenities at the Etang Vallier resort. My wife and I were able to relax on the terrace with a book and a glass of wine, whilst our two children (10 and 13) played in the clubhouse, fished for crayfish, explored the pine forests etc. Most evenings we cooked on the BBQ and ate outside. Occasionally we venture out to explore the local villages and areas of interest. With the local market at Chalais, the chateau, the beautiful arty village of Aubeterre Sur Dronne, where you will find the largest subterranean church in Europe, the kayaking, the horse riding, the cycling and the great family walks, we had plenty to do. We will be back!

"What a wonderful family holiday!"
We had such a fabulous holiday at Etang-Vallier. The villa was peaceful, extremely comfortable and well equipped. We loved the views across the lake, particularly at sunset. When our kids weren't playing on the beach or swimming in the lake, they were kept busy with kayaking, golf and even walking llamas. They had such a blast that as time went by they were sleeping in later and later, which gave us chance for a nice quiet morning coffee on the deck. Bliss! The nearby village of Brossac, which is an easy walk away, is a charming spot to pick up your early morning baguette and croissants, and has several family restaurants. The local markets are fun and a great place to sample and buy the wonderful local produce--and our boys took full advantage by consuming their own body weight in cheese. We took time to visit nearby Bordeaux, Cognac, Royan, La Rochelle and Angouleme, all of which are very easy to get to and have a host of great shops, restaurants and attractions. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Etang-Vallier to anyone travelling with a young family and will return again in the very near future!

"Lovely villa and great location with lots to do for family and friends"
There was plenty to do for all the family. My wife liked the large swimming pool on the resort, whereas the kids and I preferred swimming and kayaking in the lake. We hired bikes and managed about 20km with 2 small children, the countryside was amazing. I also enjoyed going for runs, and on the one day it rained, we went to the clubhouse and played games, and table tennis.
