The Isle of Thanet region

Located on the south east tip of Kent, Broadstairs offers a plethora of potential to holidaymakers. For those who like a boat trip there are nearby daily ferries to Ostend and Calais. For the golfer numerous award winning courses within a short drive, including Sandwich and North Foreland (handicap certificate required at certain courses). Families are treated to over 26miles of glorious golden sandy beaches. History hungry holidaymakers can feast on the delights of Deal, Dover Castle and the historic town of Canterbury - all accessible within an hours drive.

The bustling harbour of Ramsgate is a 5min drive, Margate 15mins drive. The Turner gallery is situated near the pier, with exhibitions by Tracey Emin and Turner in 2012. Ramsgate and Margate both offer regular summer events ranging from Watersports weekends to Red Devils displays.

Full details of all summer events in the area are available at Stone Apartment.

Broadstairs

The Apt. is situated just moments from Stone bay. A traditional and invariably quiet stretch of beach, peppered with kiddy friendly rock pools, and a gentle sloping shoreline offering safe bathing for the little ones. The bay leads onto the busier Viking bay where Punch and Judy shows, Morellis ice-cream parlour, crazy golf, victorian beach amusements (and more!) can all be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

Joss bay is situated approx. 15mins walk from the apt, beautifully positioned opposite the premier golf course at North Foreland. Wilder waves abound here, it's a great spot to learn to surf or hire kayaks. (http://www.jossbay.co.uk)

The locale offers fabulous seaside walks along the seven sandy stretches of beach, cycling the Viking Coastal trail (http://www.visitthanet.co.uk/attractions/viking-coastal-trail/8676) or a spot of retail therapy at the conveniently contained Westwood Cross, where Topshop nestles against Marks and Spencer, Debenhams, TK Max, Waterstones, Ask Pizzeria, Chiqutos and Nandos…..to mention just a few!! Children are exceptionally well catered for in the area, from Revolution skate park (which includes a fantastic climbing wall!) to soft play for the smaller child at the nearby Helter Skelter (http://helterskelterplaycentres.com) or Bumble Bees.

Cinema buffs are well catered for in the area - Broadstairs is proud to own The Palace Cinema, quaintly situated 5mins from the apt., or the Vue at Westwood Cross, The Granville in Ramsgate or the timeless Westgate cinema - a truly unique, 1910 cinema dedicated to providing low price tickets.

There are simply too many fabulous restaurants in Broadstairs and surrounding areas to mention here… but we do provide details of the most fabulous at the apt (and will advise in advance which you should be sure to pre-book!)

Some of our absolute favourites include the wonderful Wyatt and Jones - fabulous British dining situated by the beach http://wyattandjones.co.uk or the wonderfully authentic tapas Albarino - http://www.albarinorestaurant.co.uk and the delightfully charming Oscars Cafe, guaranteed to serve the most delicious crab in the area!

"Perfect for town and beach"

We initially viewed this apartment for its location and parking space but also then found the owner was extremely helpful in advising us on restaurants so that we could pre-book a table ( Rest 54 was great ) for my wife's special birthday ( 60th ) and we were well pleased with the advice given as we had an excellent time. The apartment was spacious ( even with four adults as our son and daughter-in-law joined us for the weekend - good train connections to London ), clean, warm and welcoming with some nice touches of biscuits, croissants, milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. Good wi-fi connection for us to use face time. Quiet location yet only minutes walk from both town and lovely sandy beaches. We did also walk to Ramsgate and Margate along the coastal paths which was a treat not having to take the car. Warm and friendly welcome from the owner and we would definitely recommend this accommodation.

"Great flat, great location, great owner"

Everything was perfect. Laura replied to all my questions and everything was ready for our arrival. The flat is just amazing, spacious, clean and modern. The location is perfect with only few minutes by walk to the Viking bay. I would definitely recommend it to everyone! Enjoyed the stay, the contact with Laura and the flat! Would come back again!

"Relaxation!"

Beautiful apartment with a gift of croissants and shortbread, which was a lovely touch! Also, loved the huge choice of books in the apartment and the wonderful location.

"Lovely and enjoyable stay"

I am not one to normally write reviews, but there are exceptions and this is one of them. The apartment, and Broadstairs the town is lovely and made for a great weekend break which we thoroughly enjoyed. The apartment itself was clean, modern, comfortable and in a great location with great hosts that made the small things count, the few essential stocked so one can have that cup of coffee and relax after a long drive, the under floor heating in the bathroom, children’s toys, etc. The apartment is literally a 3/5min walk both to the beach and the town with secure off street parking available. I would definitely recommend the Stone apartments!

"Beautifully furnished, well situated and very comfortable apartment - did not want to leave."

We arrived rather late on a very cold evening to a warm, cosy, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean apartment with essentials such as milk, butter, jam, tea, coffee, fruit and croissants already provided and a warm welcome from Laura. The apartment is very well located - only a few minutes walk down the road to the beach or the centre of town. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from as well as a couple of very good fish and chip shops and we really recommend going to the tiny Broadstairs cinema - nothing like the personal touch! If you would rather eat in then the kitchen is very well stocked - plenty of pots and pans and cooking utensils. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and will definitely be coming back. The Burrows are wonderful hosts and the apartment is beautiful - we'd definitely recommend this holiday rental.

"A devine place to stay- we did not want to leave.."

The apartment is fantastic it is perfect for a family of four. It is secluded with a car parking space which is essential. The site is ideal for walking into town and off to Stone bay. Our favourite side of town. Broadstairs is just a wonderful place with cafe's and restaurants to suit every taste. The ice cream at Chipinis was our favourite. We found great fossils at the end of stone bay and several hours were spent looking for crabs in the rock pools. The apartment has everything you need and we ate in many evenings comfortably. Book with confidence!!

"Highly recommend this apartment - stylish and great location."

I stayed here with my elderly, disabled mother and teenage daughter and we all had a fantastic time! This highly stylish and well equipped apartment was perfect for us all. Access for Mum's wheelchair was great (the level access shower being an added bonus) and my daughter, and her friend, had enough room for 'personal space' (ie gossiping) and they were please with the excellent Wi-Fi connection. Also, there is an abundance of (EXCELLENT) literature which, I thought, is a lovely touch. The apartment is deceptively spacious and spotlessly clean. Laura was a thoughtful and kind hostt: fruit and flowers on the table upon our arrival and, despite our late arrival, she was there to meet us. The fridge was also stocked with basics which meant we could go straight to dinner and worry about our food stuff the next day. I don't drive and definitely didn't need a car here. The beautiful sandy beaches are only a short stroll away, as is the town centre which offers great quality restaurants and bars. Although the apartment is located just off the main road, it is very peaceful and relaxing. All in all, a great place to stay and The Burrows are superb hosts!

"Home away from home"

This apartment has become a home away from home for me and my family. Wonderfully located on the beach side of Broadstairs, close to all amenities. Clean, comfortable apartment with welcoming atmosphere. Easy access to surrounding areas and countryside. Owner is receptive to ensure a holiday maker is able to access all their needs to make an enjoyable holiday. Transport services within 15 minute walk away. Hiring a car enables you to explore Kent, the Garden of England countryside. Apartment is situated within walking distance to many restaurants and quaint shops to explore. Broadstairs is a friendly, leisurely must place to stop, which is complemented by this apartment.

"Fabulous!"

The first thing we noticed was that the photos don't do the place justice, it's even better inside than it looks on the site. It's stylish and thoughtfully decorated (with the surprise bonus of a great selection of literature on the shelves). The owners were incredibly helpful and happy to share local knowledge. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to both Viking and Stone Bay beaches, and the town centre. The property also has off-street parking. Particularly good for families as there's lots of space, and the owners provided a cot, high chair and toys for our youngest. Very highly recommended.
