About the home

Very well-equipped 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment sleeping 6, a stone's throw from the lovely sandy beach at Viking Bay, Broadstairs. The apartment has a light and airy feel to it, and accommodates 6 people very comfortably. It is tastefully furnished, with bed-linen and bath towels provided, and has everything you need for a memorable and enjoyable self-catering sea-side holiday.

Lots of thoughful extras for your comfort and convenience.

Now includes wi-fi internet access.

This apartment has a rating of 4 stars from the English Tourist Board.

Facilities include a flat screen TV with freesat, wi-fi access, a mini hi-fi with IPOD docking station, DVD player, board games and some children's books and lego.
A travel cot and high chair can be provided if required. We do not have bedding or linen for the travel cot. Please bring this if needed.

Beach equipment is provided including portable folding chairs, a beach umbrella, a windbreak and toys for the beach.
Visitors parking permits for 1 car can be provided on request. Permits for 1 car can be supplied free of charge with every full-rate booking. Permits for additional cars can be supplied at cost price (currently £2 per day).

- A deposit of 25% of the rental amount is required to secure the booking
- A refundable damage and security deposit of £100 is payable which will be refunded following inspection, within 14 days of your departure
- Balance to be paid not less than 8 weeks prior to arrival date
- Cancellations within 8 weeks of arrival date will incur the full cost of the rental, with more than 8 weeks notice a 50% cancellation fee will be charged unless we can successfully re-let the property

Changeover day is normally a Saturday, but it may be possible to accommodate other days, so please ask.

The South East England / Kent region

Within a few miles of Broadstairs are the other interesting towns of Thanet, including Ramsgate, (with ferry services to Ostende), Margate, Sandwich and Deal. Further afield are the coastal towns of Dover and Folkestone with their excellent connections to the continent, Herne Bay and Whitstable and inland can be found rolling Kent countryside with villages as well as the wonderful city of Canterbury - a popular tourist attraction any time of the year.

The Broadstairs area

Broadstairs is a historic town on the Kent Coast, approximately 75 miles from London, which has been a popular resort for almost 200 years. Charles Dickens stayed for extended periods, and the excellent Dickens House museum shows how Broadstairs and its people were represented in some of his novels.
With 7 different sandy beaches within a short distance and a host of attractions it makes the perfect location for a family beach holiday. The beaches are:

Botany Bay
Kingsgate Bay
Joss Bay
Stone Bay
Viking Bay
Louisa Bay
Dumpton Gap.
Stone Bay is a European Blue Flag 2007 award winning beach.

Many of these have rock pools at low-tide.

Broadstairs hosts a number of themed weeks throughout the summer, including a celebration of Charles Dickens in June and a very popular Folk Week in August. There are regular firework displays during August.

- Drive to Broadstairs - the town is 75 miles (120km) from London by road, less than a 2 hour drive on good roads. Follow the M2/ A299 dual carriageway until the last 4 miles.

- Several Ferry ports are within easy reach including Ramsgate (6km away - ferry service from Ostende) or Dover (35km away - ferry service from Calais, Boulogne or Dunkerque).

- or take the Eurotunnel from Calais to Folkestone (57km/ 55 minute drive)

- Or arrive by train: Regular trains run from London St Pancras (1 hour 20 mins) London Victoria (1 hour 50 mins) or London Charing Cross (2 hours 20) to Broadstairs station, which is within a 10 minute walk of apartment.

- By Air: Kent International Airport is the closest airport, approx 8km away.
Gatwick is approximately 85 miles (135 km). Fast trains run regularly from Gatwick to London Victoria, where you could connect with a train to Broadstairs. Alternatively, taxis could be arranged from this or other major airports.
Heathrow, Stansted and Luton airports are all slightly further, but still feasible options.

“Very convenient, nice apartment near town centre and beach” Perfect apartment for a family holiday. The kitchen was well-equipped, everything was spotless, we appreciated the little extras like the complimentary wine and tea and the toys the children could use. Being close to the beach and to the town centre with some nice shops and restaurants made it all very enjoyable. Lots of interesting things to do and see nearby, and only half an hour away from the ferry terminals... Hope to stay at Chandos square again some day.

“Great apartment near beach, families well catered for. Excellent service.” This was a well presented, clean, family friendly apartment with excellent facilities. Located a stones throw from the beach and all the amenities, shops and restaurants in Broadstairs. Excellent service from the owners and prompt return of security deposit. Young children well catered for with high chair, travel cot, books and toys provided. Apartment located on second floor so may not be great for those with easy accessibility needs.

“Fantastic” Our second visit - I came with son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren, and we had another wonderful stay, even the weather smiled on us. Lauren and Matthew make everything so easy, from first enquiry to follow up. The apartment is clean, light and airy, and equipped with everything a family could need, and so near to beach, shops and restaurants. Already booked for 2013. Thanks again :)

“Lovely holiday, perfect location” Very spacious, light and airy flat with everything you could possibly need, right down to the equipment for the beach. In a superb location all amenities within easy walking distance. Our 18 month old grandson loved Viking Beach which was so handy even having a lift up and down to it! Excellent value.

“Everything you need and more, spacious, clean and very convenient” Right from the booking we were looked after by the owners so that everything was so easy. The flat is appointed to a very high standard and is in abn excellent location for beach, shops and pubs. So clean that even my German family commented on it! Thankyou to Lauren and Matthew.

“Perfect” I booked to come back again in 2012 whilst I was staying there in 2011 - need I say more? I came with my son, daughter in law and 2 grandchildren, and we all had our best holiday ever. Great location, beautifully furnished and equipped, a great deal of care and thought has obviously gone into making this the ideal holiday apartment. How soon can I book for 2013?
