Beverley Lodge is situated in the centre of Broadstairs, a beautiful East Kent seaside town with a wonderful horsheshoe-shaped main beach(Viking Bay),perfect for families.(There are also many other fantastic beaches locally).Beverley Lodge is perfectly placed to explore the many pubs and restaurants on foot. Less than 10 minutes drive away is Ramsgate with its pretty Royal Harbour. Margate offers the new Turner Contemporary art gallery,and is a 20 minutes drive. Westwood Cross, a retail and entertainment complex is a 10 minute drive away, and Canterbury is a great day out, with its' historic cathedral, the many beautiful quirky buildings and an abundance of shops and cafes.
There is a delightfully quaint cinema in Broadstairs(Palace cinema) that shows a couple of films a day, but if you require more choice there is a cinema complex up at Westwood Cross, as well as a casino and bingo hall.

When you enter from the flat door, you come into a light and spacious lounge/diner,(over 19ft long)with high ceilings and decorated in a traditional manner,with the kitchenette incorporated.There is a gorgeous fireplace in the lounge, with a flat screen television above it. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed and is tastefully decorated.The shower room is ensuite to the bedroom, and has a good sized walk-in shower, giving plenty of room to wash away the days sand.

Beverley Lodge is part of a detached Victorian house,but has its own side access,gate and front door,with an outdoor lighting swiitch.As you approach the front door there is a couple of steps.There is a patio area to the front of the property with table and chairs.

The South East England / Kent region
Kent is a county steeped in history,particularly due to its proximity to France,and .It has many castles,(i.e Leeds,Dover and Hever Castles.It is also where Christianity was first brought to England and Canterbury Cathedral is where Thomas Beckett was murdered. Of course there are the famous white cliffs of Dover that Vera Lynn sang about,the list is endless.Kent was also where Charles Dickens lived and a former prime minister Edward Heath was born.
Kent has one of the warmest climates in Britain, and the isle of thanet is said to have a micro-climate.
From Dover and Folkestone you could have a trip to Calais or Boulogne in France,and from Ramsgate you can travel by ferry to Ostend in Belgium,remember your passports though!
The Broadstairs area
Broadstairs is a charming,pretty seaside town with beautiful beaches and a lovely Victorian promenade.Places of interest are, The Charles Dickens Museum,Crampton Tower Museum,North Foreland Lighthouse as well as a quaint local cinema.(the Palace cinema).There is an abundance of pubs and restaurants,and a good selection of shops.Every year in June there is Dickens week,when the local people dress in victorian costume and in August there is a week long folk festival in Broadstairs which draws thousands of people to the area from around the world,when there is street entertainment and live bands at the bandstand and in the local pubs.In the summer there is firework displays every Wednesday evening on the main beach.(subject to weather conditions)

By Road::
(from M25) Leave the M25 at Junction 2,following signs for M2(Dover,Channel Tunnel).Join M2 and continue on the M2 past MOTO services,at Junction 7 follow signs for A299(Margate,Ramsgate).Follow the A299 until you see signs for Broadstairs,continue until you are on Broadstairs high street.Halfway down the high street turn right at Queen's Road,and West Cliff Road is the 5th turning on your left.
By Rail:
Broadstairs can be reached on the Southeastern line on either the London St Pancras highspeed train(1hour 25mins),or from London Victoria(1hour50mins).West Cliff Road is a 10-15 minute walk from the station.
By Ferry:
Ferries run regularly to Dover (approx20miles)from Calais and Boulogne,Also Ramsgate (2miles) port run ferries from Ostend.
By Air:
Kent International Airport is approximately 6 miles away,where Flybe airline fly in from Edinburgh,Glasgow and other british cities.(check on Flybe.com). The next nearest International airport is Gatwick,approximately 80 miles away,
