About this location
The Western Ireland region
Barnatra is one of the few remaining traditional rural areas in
This traditional thatched cottage overlooking Carrowmore Lake, famous for salmon fishing is 2 miles from Barnatra village and 8 miles from Belmullet. It is well equipped and has been lovingly restored with traditional furnishings like a butter churn and dresser. It is reminisiant of yesteryear with its narrow stairs to the sloped attic style ceilings in the first floor bedrooms. Its thick stone walls, small windows and half door provide an authentic Irish experience. A haven for nature lovers there is bird watching, fishing and walking close by.
~There are 2 narrow staircases to the first floor bedrooms which may cause difficulty for elderly or infirm. Also sloped, attic -style ceilings in the first floor bedrooms.
