Belmullet 6 miles away is a pleasant town situated on the narrow neck of land between Broad Haven and Blacksod Bays, at the entrance to the Mullet peninsula. Local landlord, William Carter, founded it around 1825 and it quickly developed into the principle town in the barony of Erris. It is becoming a popular tourist location.

The beautiful Carne Golf Links course is located only 2 miles away from the property where you can enjoy a game of golf and take in the stunning scenery in the area.
There is so much on offer in the area from bird watching, fantastic walks, sea angling and great boat trips. This Northern coast boasts some of the finest cliff scenery in Ireland.
This Coastline is bordered by miles of Sandy beaches such as those of Portacloy, Rinroe and many more. Further Inland is a cast area of blanket bog the largest such habitat in Europe. A wide choice awaits you - swim or laze on the blue flag beaches, tread on the largest living bog land in Europe, enjoy walks along sea cliffs or visit the many historic sites.
So whether it is a fun packed holiday or a break away from it all this area has the lot and this is a fantastic base from which to tour the area.

The Broadhaven, Ireland / Barnatra area
County Mayo to match the amazing scenery stretching from Lough Corrib in the south to Killala Bay in the north, Mayo boasts many attractions including stunning mounting scenery, megalithic tombs, excellent fishing waters, exciting hiking trails and great golf courses - including the championship course at Westport.
Westport is a charming town, with lively traditional pubs and plenty of Irish music. There is also Westport House + Pirate Adventure Park (built in 1730 on the ruins of a previous castle of legendary Pirate Queen Grace O'Malley - it's great fun for all the family).
Westport itself lies at the mouth of Clew Bay, where you'll find Achill Island - the largest island off the Irish coast, and probably the most beautiful, with lovely mountains, moors and beaches.
Back on the mainland, Croagh Patrick , the pyramidal mountain, is where Saint Patrick is said to have performed his snake-banishing act. Mayo's other famous religious site is Knock, which is visited by hordes of pilgrims every year.
