In a super position right on the quayside of Brixham's historic inner harbour, a fishing port dating from the Middle Ages. Sailors' Haunt is a quaint cottage and has uninterrupted sea views across the harbour and towards Torbay from all its windows on the harbourside and especially its sunny galleried balcony.
This charming cottage, which sleeps up to four, is situated in King Street in a level position and easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and public houses and just a few minutes walk from the marina, breakwater and beach. The property is just 4 metres away from the harbours edge and has its own private parking bay just a few minutes walk away. Many of our clients return year after year so it is advisable to book early if you require a preferred date. The property is privately owned and managed and therefore we can offer very competitive rates.
Sailors' Haunt offers fantastic views with private car parking, bedlinen and towels included, making it the perfect holiday location. So book early!

Known as 'The English Riviera' due to its clement micro climate, Torbay has many sandy beaches and coves and a coastline that offers many exhilating walks with views of the English Channel.
The is a wide selection of National Trust properties throughout the region. Dartmoor National Park is close at hand.
Places to visit like Dartmouth, accessible by the higher or lower ferry . Torquay, situated across the bay has a regular sea ferry service leaving Brixham harbour and takes about 20 minutes across the bay. It is a good shopping location with almost all major high street names, many pubs and restaurants, cinema, theatre and a busy nightlife of wine bars. Paignton has large sandy beaches and a pier, cinema, theatre and is famous for its zoo.
Brixham area
Brixham is the oldest fishing harbour situated in the South West and is a maritime treasure where life still centres around one of Britain's busiest fishing ports.
Away from the harbour you can lose yourself in a maze of narrow winding streets and within walking distance from the town centre you will find some of the Riviera's most spectacular scenery sandy beaches and secluded coves which give way to the towering cliffs of Berry Head, offering breathtaking views of Torbay and the English Channel. Brixham marina is now home to a collection of heritage sailing vessels including some of Brixham's original large sailing ships.
Brixham's coastline is brimming with history from the Napoleonic fortications at Berry head to the preserved World War 2 outlook batteries that were once part of Britain's coastal defences. If you enjoy walking there are the narrow and sometimes steep town streets leading up from the harbour and lined with colourful cottages, or you may prefer to take in the panoramic views from the coastal paths or scenic nature walks in the beautiful countryside. Berry Head Park has a nature trail and hundreds of acres of woodland and cliffs to explore. The stunning South West coast path continues from here and winds its way to Dartmouth.

Churston Cove: A small bay with a sand and shingle beach. Fishcombe Cove: A very busy pebble beach in season and a pretty cove with safe swimming. Breakwater beach: A pebble beach near Brixham marina, the beach offers swimming a cafe, toilets and parking. Popular with scuba divers. Shoalstone: Open air, sea filled swimming pool, rocky beach, cafe, toilets and parking. St Mary's Bay: A beautiful sand and pebble cove but reached by about 100 steps and a steep path. Man Sands: Sandy beach further along the coast towards Dartmouth, access is available by foot only. Paignton beach: Large sandy beach with a pier, cinema and theatre.
At night you can take in the sights and sounds around the harbour from one of the many bistros or restaurants situated alongside or you may prefer to walk around Brixham's Harbour and marina and watch the harbour lights reflecting across the bay.
How to get there
Public Transport Directions
From Paignton Railway Station cross over to the Bus Station opposite and ask for Brixham town centre their are regular services to Brixham. On leaving the bus you can either walk the short distance about 5 minutes to King Street or hire a taxi.
Road Directions
M5 passing Exeter. A380 to Torbay and Paignton. Through Newton Abbot turn right at the roundabout to take the Torquay Ring Road and follow signs to Brixham. At the Brixham approach traffic lights bear left towards the Harbour, at next main junction lights turn left go to the junction at the harbour, turn right passing the William of Orange statue on your left continuing into King Street .

Dining Area: An extending dining table to accommodate up to six. Bathroom: The well appointed bathroom has fully fitted units for storage and comprises a bath with electric shower over, washbasin and toilet.
1st Floor:
Open plan and furnished with a modern comfortable 3 piece suite, a TV, video recorder, DVD player with freeview & CD player (a selection of videos, DVDs, CDs, books, games and a PlayStation are provided), A BT payphone is also provided to make or receive calls. The lounge also benefits from a sunny galleried balcony with patio doors enabling guests to take advantage of the fantastic sea views of the harbour and Torbay.
2nd Floor:
Main bedroom has a hand basin, extra heated towel rail, pocket-sprung double bed, built in wardrobe and a picture window offering magnificent sea views over the harbour and beyond.
Bedroom two has full-size 3ft wide fitted bunk beds with pocket-sprung mattresses suitable for adults, and built in wardrobe situated on the landing.
There is also an additional separate toilet on the upper floor.
The cottage has full gas central heating and double glazing throughout which means that it is a super property for breaks all year round.

With no booking charge, no parking charge and reasonable rental costs makes this cottage an ideal holiday home or base to stay or tour from.
Keys are posted to you so arrive at the cottage any time after 3pm on your start date.
Bookings run from Friday to Friday from March to November. Short breaks (min 3 nights) available from November 7th to March 4th. (excluding Bank holidays, Christmas and New Year).
Sailors Haunt is a non smoking property and is not suitable for pets.
If you prefer to bring all your own bedlinen and towels we can reduce the weekly tariff by £15.00.
A £100.00 cautionary refundable deposit is required with each booking for any damage or breakages within the cottage, the sum reserved shall not limit the client liability to the owner.
