About this location
The English Riviera region
Torbay is the playground of Devon situated in a secondary bay off Lyme Bay and offers calm shelter from the main weather coming up the English Channel from the Atlantic Ocean. Sandy beaches, rocky coves and the wilds of Dartmoor are all on offer in the West Country
Nestling in the southernmost curve of Torbay is the historic fishing port of Brixhamwhere a large fishing fleet works out of the picturesque harbour.
Quaint houses in narrow streetsand steep steps up from the harbour give Brixham a sense of agelessness.
The port has a wealth of shops from old fashioned linen toDevonshire toffee and clotted cream.
The Berry Head Country Park, The Napoleonic Fortress and the Coastal Park are a must for lovers of histiry and nature.

"Fantastic Family House"
I booked to stay at Ranscombe House for Christmas and we all had a brilliant time! The house far exceeded our expectations - it was spacious yet cosy and there was plenty of room for the entire family to relax without feeling on top of one another. Every room had an ensuite bathroom and telly which was a fantastic bonus. The kitchen was large enough for the inevitable Christmas mass catering and the cherry on top was being able to all sit at the 16 seater table for Xmas dinner. Richard and Moira we're fantastic - they really made us feel at home, even going so far as to decorate the house with Christmas decorations and a tree for us :)
It was great to hear you had a good time.Hoping you can come again sometime.
