About the home

New with Holiday Lettings, the accommodation is spread over 4 floors each of which has wonderful harbour and sea views. The property has been decorated and furnished to a good standard and has a lovely contemporary feel making it an ideal home for the larger family or two families wishing to holiday together.
The house is also very suitable for smaller parties of 4 or less and has a nice warm 'snug' feel to it especially out of season.

1 FREE PARKING SPACE WILL BE PROVIDED AT OXEN COVE PUBLIC CAR PARK JUNE - SEPTEMBER IF REQUESTED. This is subject to the Terms and Conditions stated by the council. The car park is approximately 8-10 minutes walk away however there is on road parking opposite the house and plenty about 4 minutes walk away on Furzenam Green.

The accommodation is on the top 2 floors consisting of 2 double rooms, 1 twin room and 1 room with 2 adult bunk beds which do not have a ladder or side bars.
There is a family bathroom with loo and a separate shower room and a 2nd loo downstairs.
The dinning room is on the lower floor with access to the patio via a 'stable' door.
There are 2 separate lounges both with TV's and 1 with Sky. The front lounge also has a wide range of books and games.

Parking is available in local car park and weekly tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre and cost approximately £33.00 per week for all Torbay Council Car Parks. 1 FREE PARKING TICKET WILL BE PROVIDED FOR BOOKINGS JUNE - SEPTEMBER IF REQUESTED SUBJECT TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS POSTED BY THE COUNCIL. There is also on road car parking opposite the house and there are many on street car parking places nearby. (detailed map in house)

The patio is a suntrap and overlooks the whole bay, Marina, inner harbour and the Breakwater in the distance where you can sit and watch the world go by.

The West Country / Devon region

Torbay has been and continues to be very popular with many generations due to its warm climate and award winning beaches and fantastic walks (visit www.sampfordhouse.com for list of some great walks). The rich history of the Bay where the Spanish Ammada was 1st sighted and attacked and where William of Orange landed in 1688, provides a wealth of history to explore. Within easy reach is the medival village of Cockington with it's famous forge and mannor, Dartmouth with it's galleries and Naval College and many quite coves and clean beaches.

The area hosts many festivals and regattas which shouldn't ever be missed - details can be found on the tourist Borad web site.

The Brixham area

A cosy coastal town with beautiful views and rambling countryside. It's one of the buisest fishig ports in the country and you can watch the trawlers devliver their catches althrough the day and night. There is plenty to do to keep young and old happy - ferry trips, fishing, crabbing, swimming in the famous Sholastone outdoor salt water pool or just a walk up to the famous Berry Head Reserve with its TWO Napolionic Forts and the tallaest and shortest lighthouse in the country overlooking 500 square miles of sea and one of the most panoramic views you have ever seen of the whole of Lyme Bay.

There is a great range of bars, bistros, restaurants, cafes and pubs all within a short distance. Trade Winds is situated just a 2 minute stroll from all the facilities.

There many local Festivals not to be missed - The Pirate Festival on the first weeknd in May with over 1,000 pirates, The Trawler race 0n the 16th June which all the trawler crew celebnrate, Brixfest June 2nd - 4th with the 'Bird Man of Brixham', 1 mile sea swim and attempt at the world largest crabbing contest, Steam Rally in August and finally FishStock in September when the fishmarket plays host to celebrate everything good about fish and fishing.

Trade Winds is easily accesible by car or alternatively train users can use Paignton train station which is approximately a 15 minute taxi ride away and is also situated opposite Paignton bus station and you can catch the Number 12 bus which runs approximately every 10 minutes.

Ferry trips to Torquay run very frequently in season and there is a daily ferry to Dartmouth in season as well.

“Highly recommended” I had an amazing stay here with my partner, I would definatley recommend this house to anybody looking to stay in Brixham. The view was lovley, right over the harbour with the marina and the sea view. The house was very clean/ spacious/ comfortable and had a great home feel. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We had great weather during our stay and we got involved in the pirate weekend which was great fun. I would definatley stay here again, the house definatley made our holiday! Many thanks

“Excellent accomodation!” We have just come back from a week in the lovely Brixham and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Trade Winds was the perfect base for us and with 8 adults staying the 4 floor house was plenty big enough to accommodate us all. It had everything we needed for a comfortable week and we were extremely impressed with the whole holiday - from the ease of booking, to the lovely clean rooms. As we were out of season, parking was not an issue and we did not have to pay any charges. Overall we would definitely recommend this holiday rental!

“Lovely property with excellent views” "Trade Winds" was exactly how we envisaged the property would be. Large victorian property with four storeys. It was extremely clean and well equipped for the larger family or party of travellers. Excellent views over the town and harbour and a sun terrace on the lower floor wher we relaxed with coffee and biscuits, whilst enjoying the sun and fresh air. Everthing about the property was as described in the details. We met Matthew and Rosie (the owners) during our stay and they were extremely fiendly and welcoming. My only complaint is the lack of parking by the property, this applies to all of the properties in the area. I purchased (online prior to going) a weekly parking permit for £33.0 and had to leave the car in the central car park and walk to and from the property. The weather was good for our week so not really a problem, but i would not like to do it in the rain with a couple of children in tow. All in all a great week in a great property, I,m sure we will return in the future.
