The Bristol region

The West Country - the counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset - enjoys a milder climate than much of England, and consequently Cornwall has long been a popular summer getaway. The area provides the best surfing in England, with towns like Newquay, Bude and Croyde filling with enthusiasts every year. There is excellent walking on Bodmin Moor, domain of the legendary beast, and the coastline is wild and beautiful. There are scenic towns such as Penzance to explore and delicious Cornish pasties to sample.

The area also has Celtic links and the legend of King Arthur came from here. It is easy to see where the myths of this area spring from, with the Bronze Age remains and standing stones which still dot the landscape. The Roman city of Bath and seaside resorts of Torquay and Bournemouth are great holiday destinations. The old port town of Plymouth is rich in history and Exeter cathedral is magnificent. If you're after some high class cooking, Padstow offers the famous seafood restaurant run by chef Rick Stein.

Bristol

Bristol is the perfect getaway location, a diverse city full of arts and culture, flagship stores and superb shopping, foodies heaven and a good base to explore the surrounding countryside or tourist towns such as Bath/Glastonbury. In the summer, just a short drive to the seafront of Clevedon, Weston or the beaches in South Wales.

"Great Find"

Very clean. Great facilities. Responsive, helpful letting people. Great welcome pack. Close to local amenities. Easy free on-street parking. Easy to find/get to. Definitely recommend for business travellers, great alternative to a hotel without lots of security, pin numbers & rules. Thank you!

"Home from home"

A clean, comfortable and cosy apartment within easy reach of Clifton and 20 minutes' walk to central Bristol along the waterfront. Access etc very easy. Everything we could possibly need was there, including a very nice cake! Hope very much to be able to stay there again.

"Cosy, tasteful apartment in an ideal location"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camden Terrace, the place exceeded our expectations, we were greeted with fresh roses in the apartment, a supply of tea and coffee and even some chocolates (a nice greeting indeed). The bed was divine, even equipped with an electric blanket and the bedding was egyptian cotton, a really good nights sleep. Location wise, it was just a short walk to Clifton Village and the Bristol Harbour, even to the centre of Bristol it was only a 15 minute walk or a short drive. The only downside was that we had to leave, however we hope to come back again in the summer, to enjoy the garden when the sun is shining.
