The apartment is in a quiet location and suits people who want a base in the city, but outside of the centre. It is not suitable for groups who want noisy parties, but ideal for families or couples who want to explore and enjoy all of the cities facilities, and the surrounding area. Bicycles can be hired from the city centre, and Bristol is the UKs first 'cycling city' with many cycle routes (get a map from the Tourist Information Office on the Harbourside). The apartment is on the top floor and has views to the Bristol Channel and South Wales, with large windows (double glazed) and spacious rooms.

There are heaters in every room (gas central heating), and hot water on demand. The two bedrooms are both double, and have wardrobe facilities. The kitchen is modern with large fridge/freezer, electric cooker, ceramic hob, extractor, microwave, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. The bathroom has bath with shower over it, sink, WC, heated towel rail and plenty of cabinets. There is a long entrance hall with large coat cupboard (also plenty of board games, DVDs and CDs). Wi-Fi is available for those wanting to connect their computer to the internet.

The apartment has 1 parking space which is adequate for a normal sized family car. it is underground but not 'secure'. There is also free on-road parking.
The West Country region
The west country is associated with farming and agriculture, also the beauty of its countryside. Close to Bristol are the Mendip Hills with the famous Cheddar Gorge, and the smallest city in England, Wells, with its spectacular cathedral. There is also Glastonbury, renowned for it's natural healing, and the hill that featured in the London Olympic opening ceremony, Glastonbury Tor. Weston-super-Mare can easily be reached by car or train, and has a large sandy beach and a new pier, with theme park style rides. The neighbouring county of Devon with its pretty fishing villages and red sandy beaches can easily be reached by train or car (about 2 hours), and nature lovers will enjoy the Exmoor national park and Forest of Dean, both easily reached by car.
Bristol is the largest city in the west of England, and has something for everyone. Whether you enjoy art, theatre, cinema, museums, shopping, fine dining or a good base to explore the surrounding area, then Bristol is an ideal choice. The city centre has two large shopping centres (Broadmead and the new Cabot Circus), and Clifton Village has a large selection of small, independent shops. The Harbourside has been completely redeveloped in recent years, and has many restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Bristol is also home to the University of Bristol (one of the best in the UK), so a large student population keeps the city young and vibrant. The Arnolfini contemporary art centre has regular changing exhibitions, and the new M-Shed museum of Bristol history is well worth a visit. The apartment is situated in a very green suburb close to Clifton, which is tranquil and very attractive. However, it is a short drive or bus ride into the city centre (the bus stop is 1 minute walk)! The very large park, Durdham Downs, is just down the road, and this is ideal for running around, playing ball games, picnics, etc. Look out for the spectacular views of the Avon Gorge from the end of the park.

"Beautiful views and quiet location"
A top floor apartment with 2 large bedrooms a spacious longe with eating and very well appointed kitchen. Off street parking in a lovely location close to the Downs a bus ride from the city centre. Very clean and newly decorated this apartment makes a fantastic base for exploring Bristol. Just across the Downs are the Zoo, Clifton and the Suspension bridge. To the North Cribbs Causeway shopping centre is only a short drive away.

"A great choice - good location, spacious, well-stocked kitchen, and very organised/easy to deal with owner"
We had an excellent time. The flat is in a perfect location - easy access to all that Bristol has to offer, but in a quiet residential area. The flat itsef is very spacious, and has fantastic views over to the Severn in the distance. Most impressive was how well-stocked the kitchen was. Unlike most holiday lets, it had all the thiings you need if you want to actually cook. And the owner was very good to deal with. He could be seen as strict in terms of asking people not to have loud parties, but because the flat is in a building with families living in it, we felt that was entirely reasonable (and we weren't intending a party anyway).
