Manor House / 14 bedrooms / sleeps 26
A fabulous refurbished medieval manor house that stands in 800 acres of land mentioned in the Domesday Book, encircled by its own moat. Brinsop Court Manor House is in the heart of Herefordshire with views across the moat to the Skirrid and Black Mountains.
The manor house is built of Herefordshire stone and it shines inside and out. Through the ancient oak door find timber frames, old beams, mullioned windows and panelled walls. Some Victorian refinements were made in Arts & Crafts style, and 21st-century comforts have been added.
Choose to eat downstairs in the Queen Anne Dining Hall or upstairs in the huge Banqueting Hall. Cook in the well-stocked farmhouse kitchens equipped with AGAs; play darts, table tennis or snooker in the Games Room and sleep in the enormous luxurious beds.
This historic Grade I listed manor house provides luxury self catering accommodation for discerning families and groups of friends who want to holiday together for reunions or special occasions. There is plenty to do on the estate with bikes to hire, fishing in the moat, a hot tub, tennis court and fire pits. There are bespoke Treasure Trails around the estate to explore and Brinsop Court welcomes people with dogs or even their own horses. Star gazing, outdoor cooking and watching the local wildlife are popular past times or walk across the fields to the local pub. There are several local caterers who can shop and prepare meals if you want the flexibility of self catering without the work!

The Herefordshire region
Herefordshire is one of the most rural counties in the UK. Famous for its black and white villages and historic market towns. It is a place to retreat from the frantic pace of the rest of the world where birdsong can be heard and the night skies are bright with stars.
Within a few minutes drive is the historic city of Hereford with its magnificent cathedral and the medieval Mappa Mundi on show.
For the active holiday maker there is canoeing on the Wye, llama trekking in the Golden Valley, rock climbing at Symonds Yat and ballooning just up the road. The Herefordshire Golf Club with its breathtaking views or the flatter Burghill Valley Golf Club are both within a 15 minute drive or if you prefer a spot of pampering, head to Holmer Park Spa. There is a variety of great restaurants all within a short taxi journey away and a selection of caterers who will shop and cook for you.
Hay on Wye, the book town is just up the road with its famous literary festival and there are poetry festivals, food festivals, walking festivals and other events and activities taking place locally throughout the year.
Brinsop is a small hamlet just north of the city of Hereford. Its a rural area and Brinsop Court Manor House is on a working arable farm. There is an award winning pub, The Bell Inn five minutes drive (or a walk across the fields) away. Wordsworth was a frequent visitor to the area when his brother in law owned Brinsop Court.

"A superb place to stay"
From the tasty cakes to the thoughtful little extras, Brinsop Court was so welcoming and certainly well worth the money. Everything was perfect and well thought out. The gardens were perfect for summer sports and the seats at the top of the terrace allowed the older family members to sit out and be part of the action. Nothing was too much trouble for the team at Brinsop although everything was just perfect we didn't need them out of hours as all was easily found and available to use. Thank you Brinsop Court for a fantastic break away for all of us.

A weekend for 32 of us that far surpassed expectations. From the very first contact to the final 'thank you' emails Brinsop staff have excelled at every turn. We had the whole venue, with dinner in the banqueting hall on the Saturday and had the most stunning weekend. The venue is remarkable, welcoming, spacious and simply splendid. Wood burners, fly fishing, large lounges, aga's in the kitchens, cakes on arrival, sumptuous accommodation and then sunshine all weekend. Plenty to keep everyone busy or to have some peace and quiet - I cannot be too generous to this wonderful place, staffed and managed by delightful people. Everyone who came has told us what a tremendous time they had, and many are looking to find ways of booking Brinsop themselves for a large family gathering. Simply 'Wow'!

"A magical stay in a beautiful country house, with elegant rooms and 5* comfort"
We'd had a long and tiring journey, but our spirits rose immediately we saw Brinsop Court. Tucked away in wonderfully lush Herefordshire countryside, the house, surrounded by shrubs, flowers, and a moat, looked stunning in the late afternoon unshine. There to greet us warmly was Ali, who had been so helpful in email correspondence. On the kitchen table was a basket of welcome goodies, a huge chocolate cake, and bottles of local cider and beer. This feeling of generosity and nothing being too much trouble seems to permeate Brinsop. Ali took us on a tour of Baileys, and everything she showed us was beyond our expectations, even though the excellent photos on the website had given us a good idea of what we'd find. Downstairs and upstairs the key words are spacious and comfortable. Everyone in our party expressed the same feelings. Everything is spotlessly clean, and feels so well loved. Chairs and sofas are comfortable and huge, and we all slept superbly well in the wonderful beds, dressed with high quality sheets. Bathrooms, shower rooms, all are so well done. There's lots of hot water! Ali had offered to help me out by cooking and delivering some 'good home cooking', which I accepted with huge gratitude, and it was all superb! Apart from attending a family wedding locally, we spent the rest of our time enjoying Brinsop. We were lucky to have sunshine all weekend, but if it had been wet there was a games room with billiard table, dart board and ping pong, plus lots of board games to play, and of course TVs everywhere. But it's well worth packing your wellies (just in case it rains!), for there are a number of walks to do on the Brinsop estate, all of which are carefully explained in the excellent book of information. There's also a treasure trail – and so much to explore in the surrounding area, too. We'd all like to say thank you to everyone for looking after us so well and for thinking of everything to make our stay so memorable. There were 11 of us, the youngest of whom was 20 months and the oldest in their seventies. Brinsop Court just has to be the perfect place to enjoy family get-togethers, birthday celebrations, weddings, and, of course, Christmas and New Year.

"Wedding Weekend at Brinsop"
We have nothing but high praise for Brinsop whether it is the location, facilities, quality or the service we received. We and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed our stay. How could we not;the house and location is absolutely stunning and the quality of the facilities is 5*. Nothing was too much trouble from the Brinsop staff who went out of their way to make everything perfect for us and the little touches were most definitely the icing on the cake, literally. In all honesty we cannot find fault or think of anything that would have improved on the Brinsop experience.I f you are considering booking Brinsop we highly recommend you do in the certainty that you won't be disappointed.... far from it.

"Quite simply an extraordinarily amazing and memorable experience"
Brinsop Court was chosen as the venue for our wedding and my 50th birthday party over the same w/e. Our extended family and friends totalling over sixty people came to experience the Brinsop "journey" - one which is made up of understated luxury, opulence and terrific comfort. Huge, beautifully appointed bedrooms became the most wonderful sanctuaries from the great family parties and as for the medieval banqueting hall for the big set piece bits, well frankly one simply needs to actually see this room to believe it. Fab team on site, fab location nestling in the bucolic Herefordshire hills and fab memories afterwards - money in the bank that!
Thank you Charles, we are missing you already....

"The Perfect 60th Birthday Location"
The Accomodation was A1, Welcome Pack A1, Facilities A1. The perfect place for family & friends to enjoy being together yet to have the space for time alone with the people you love. Many thanks Jonathon, The Housekeeping Staff & Pat for making it all possible.
