The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia is an area with endless historic cities and towns, beautiful white sand beaches shelving gently into crystal clear seas. The climate is all you would expect for the central Mediterranean, having hot summers and mild winters.
The Brindisi / San Vito dei Normanni area
San Vito is a market town providing all your day to day requirements. There are many places of interest to visit. Some of the most beautiful places being Ostuni (the White City), Alberobello (trulli town), Matera (with ancient cave dwellings), Otranto (14th Century castle). There is a Go-Karting track nearby and a Zoo Safari Park within an hour's drive.

| Nearest Travel Links | |
| Airport: | Brindisi: 19 km |
| Railway: | San Vito Dei Normanni: 7 km |
| Ferry: | Brindisi: 22 km |
Getting to Puglia can be very straight forward, just jump on a direct 'RYANAIR' fllght from Stanstead to 'Brindisi' or from (June 2012) a direct 'EASYJET' direct flight from Gatwick to 'Bari' and in just over two hours you'll land in a warm and sunny Puglia.
There are alternatives. from London Heathrow with 'ALITALIA' via Rome or Milan and then down to Brindisi, you could even arrange to have a stopover in Rome and do a bit of extra sightseeing before coming down to us.
OR. If you live in the west country in the UK you could try 'EASY JET' from Bristol to Rome or Naples, hire a car at the airport and take a leisurely 3 or 5 hour drive down along the beautiful coast road motorway. OR.
Bristol to Naples via 'THOMPSON AIR' on a Friday only (can be very, very cheap) and then drive down which takes only about three and a half hours, failing any of the above a bit of internet research will no doubt bring up a few other alternatives.
Car hire is quite reasonable and most of the major well known companies are represented at both Brindisi and Bari airports. Try carrentals.co.uk a car hire comparison website - very good.
You will need a car for this holiday in order to take advantage of the miles of empty roads, taking you through some of Italy's most beautiful scenery, hamlets, villages, towns and cities and of course driving down to the beach with all that gear for the kids.

We had a great trip and the villa was fantastic; exactly as we wanted it, and how it was described. |

The house is beatiful in a rustic setting. The perfect place to get away from everything!! The pool is brilliant! It has a shallow bit for kids and a deep end too so its perfect for families. The beaches are within easy reach and it is close to a variety of villages and towns. A car is a must though as it is quite far out in 'the sticks'. We spent half of our time at the Casa chilling and literally had to drag ourselves away to sight see etc. It's so easy to relax!! San vito is a nice place, with free mineral water from the towns well if you take your old bottles along. It has many cafe's and Restraunts and ofcourse Pizzarias!! Caravigno is up the hill and has some lovely swanky bars and eateries, plus a castle too!! The whole place is steeped in history so tere is always something to do! The best (and cheapest) places to shop are Lidl and the penny market but don't forget the local stalls in and around town for fresh fruits and other things. All in all a brilliant holiday for all of us, friends, family, and children!! |
Guestbook for Casa del Sole
Hi Mark & Vicki
The vacation rental was perfect. The property and pool were great. The building managers were very kind and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this house to others.
Hi Mark and Vicki
We just wanted to say that we had a fantastic time in Puglia. The villa was perfect and with nice hot sunshine the pool made all the difference. There was plenty to keep us busy and good beaches within easy reach.
The villa was cool at night which was a great relief although we had a few bites from the mosquitoes.
We also wanted to say how accommodating Norman and Raphael were they were always happy to help and very chirpy. It certainly made us feel welcome and relaxed.
Thank you from all of us and we will certainly recommend your villa to people.
Dear mark and vicki
just a note to say how much we enjoyed the house and how much we felt at home.....norman and raphael made the stay just perfect they are soooo lovely, attention to details were just perfect and they looked after us for the entire week......they are such beautiful people ..
Just a quick email to say thank you again for sorting out the villa for us for our stay last week. We really did all have a great time and my niece is still telling everyone about ‘her’ swimming pool…!
The house is nice and we missed nothing. The weather was
beautiful und we spend much time at the very nice beach (Torre Guaceto).
We found very good restaurants and meet nice people.
I would like to start by saying that a fantastic time was had by all and we had a very relaxing time. We really appreciated the little welcome pack with some essentials on arrival which included a much needed glass of wine, overall a great holiday, great location, lovely pool and some thoughtful touches'
