"Second time: just as good as the first"

As a family of four and most recently as a solo traveler, this cottage was ideal. Coming from a tropical climate, the cold is an issue for us in the UK. Fortunately the cottage has seriously good cent… More

"Tiny cottage,in need of full reburbishment, not suitable for rent."

Whilst this appears to be a quaint cottage , and probably suits the owners needs , it is not suitable for rent as a holiday cottage. Its quaint look covers the fact that anyone over 6 feet tall , will… More

The advert for the cottage states quite clearly that it has low ceilings & exposed beams .It also states that the cottage is over 400 years old & it is well known that at that time people were much shorter than today.
In the 22 .years that I have owned this cottage nobody has ever stated that ceiling height was a problem,it is in fact part of the charm of the cottage. The step down into the kitchen is low but is clearly marked & all it requires is is for a little common sense to be applied
I personally am six foot tall and even in the lowest part of the lounge my head does not touch the beam
The oven is electric & 4 years old.Although it can be difficult to see the setting marks clear written instructions are provided next to the cooker which make use easy.
The gas hob is also 4 years old, & if the back jet is not working as claimed then it is news to me & I will have it repaired.I am sorry if this caused a problem
There are no non stick pans at the cottage & never have been.We only use stainless steel. The type of saucepans used can clearly be seen in one of the kitchen photographs
As to the cost of renting the cottage I would like to point out that nobody forced the reviewer to rent it & in fact the price charged was lower than most similar cottages for this period in the area. Also again the advert clearly states that gas & electric are no pay as you go meters & we all know that they are now expensive
Finally please look on the Trip advisor site for this cottage. Here you can see other reviews that this person has submitted.Up until this time all reviews submitted are either POOR or TERRIBLE

"Cottage full of character"
