The Brighton and Hove region
Less than an hour from London, Sussex has the largest number of county lanes anywhere in the UK and offers spectacular beaches, rolling hills and picturesque villages.
From Beachy Head in the East to Harting Down in the West, The Sussex Downs has some of the most beautiful and varied landscape in the UK, and recently graded as a ‘National Park’ in respect of its beauty and diversity. Enjoy the superb walks, photo opportunities, afternoon cream teas or if you enjoy a more active break, try sailing, mountain biking, hang-gliding or orbing!
Brighton Marina has all the facilities and amenities you'd expect from one of Europe's biggest marinas. It is flanked on one site by Brighton's famous pebble beaches (including the UK's first nudist beach!) and the other by the white cliffs of the Sussex Heritage Coastline.
Brighton and Hove - voted one of the friendliest cities in the UK - is probably the most vibrant cities in the UK also, if not Europe, oozing creativity and kudos from every pore. Often described as the ‘San Francisco of the UK’, because of it’s laid back bohemian culture, it offers a hotbed of entertainment, from the beating heart of the cultural quarter to its unique 'village' areas, with a staggering choice of drama, opera, music, dance, literature, street theatre and outdoor spectacles... and of course, more shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes than you can shake a stick at!
Beyond Brighton is the South Downs National park, again with a dixxying array of activities, and miles and miles of traditional English villages and countryside walks.

The boat house is just perfect in every way. We had a fantastic weekend in Brighton which was made even more special by staying at the boat house. The apartment was beautiful and exactly as we imagined, we fell in love with it as soon as we stepped through the door. It has a great layout, was clean and exceptionally well appointed. It looks exactly like the photos in the gallery. The kitchen is compact, bed comfortable, and shower warm - what more could you ask for from a holiday apartment? Well at the boat house there is also the great views of the marina from the balcony, the excellent bars and restaurants just a 5 minute walk away and the free parking in the multistory car park. We loved it so much we are looking to get another weekend booked as soon as possible. We have found a little treasure in the boat house and hope that we can get booked in to return on several more trips in the months and years to come. Thank you Irenka

"A lovely weekend on the floating harbour!"
I was looking for a long weekend in Brighton visiting family. As we have a 2 year old that presented a few problems and ideally we needed selfcatering accomodation. The selfcatering I found was ridiculously expensive and I was losing hope until I stumbled upon the boat house. It was just what we were looking for at a reasonable price. The owners were really accommodating with dates and there were plenty of baby friendly bits to help with my toddler!. It's small and compact but with everything you need. My husband and I loved sharing a bottle of wine on the balcony once our little one was in bed. Our toddler was entrained for ages simply watching the boats in the harbour. Thank you!

"I don't want people to know about this...."
What a fantastic place to stay! So well designed and thought out - often you stay in places that look good but are not practical. This is! It's bijou but perfectly formed. As Brightonians who have moved north but come 'home' to catch up with friends this is the first time we have ever stayed on the Marina - usually choosing Travelodge at Preston Park that does the best deals. This was much better value with independence for breakfast, dinner and a nice big comfy sofa to relax on. Bed was fab as well and the location was incredibly, comparatively quiet - the noisy seagulls go inland. Loved it.

"Compact and cosy"
I only stayed 3 nights at the Boat House but found the experience postive. Unfortunately the marina was enclosed in a fog for much of the time so the views of the sea and land were limited. The Boat House is well designed with a mezzanine sleeping area above the living area. There are sufficient cooking utensils and a microwave and 2 hot plates. The meal area consists of stools and a bench. The small fridge is adequate. Although the sofa in the living area can be used as a bed, I think that 2 persons is really the comfortable maximum for the place, otherwise meals would be cramped - there are 3 stools but the bench really only provides enough room for 2 people comfortably eating. Wifi was available but there were charges. Free parking is a real bonusin a place like Brighton even if it is a distance from the Boat House. The availability of trolleys helped the task of moving suitcases. Picking up the key from the Marina Office was no trouble. The Boat House provided a pleasent and some what different accommodation experience.

"Great fun, cosy and comfortable"
We stayed for a birthday break in Brighton. The boat house is great fun, right out in the middle of the marina, you feel as if you're on a boat. The weather was wet and windy, but this just added to the experience because the apartment is so warm and cosy. Clean, bright and comfortable, great bed, clean and stylish bathroom, well equipped kitchen. We actually decided to cancel one night out in Brighton, just so we could have an evening in the boat house, it's that nice. Only complaint is not about the boat house, it's about the bloke in the marina office who handed over the key, he was unfriendly and unhelpful, I hope nobody's wasted any money by sending him on a customer service training course. Didn't spoil the stay though.

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights but it wasn't long enough - could have happily spent a week in this haven on the marina. Small but perfectly formed, it is gorgeously furnished with all mod cons. Big comfy bed, spacious wet room with powerful shower, cute little kitchen (which had everything you could possibly need), lovely living area and a great little balcony with water and boats as far as the eye could see. Would heartily recommend and can't wait to go back!
