Stanley available for Xmas and New Year bookings but minimum of 1 week stays only.
In addition to the smart and spacious double beds Stanley has a single futon which is located in the bedroom at the front of the house. This means that 5 people can now stay in the property. If it was an extra child then the futon can remain where it is but with an extra adult then you have the option of moving it down to the sitting room to create more privacy. For 5 people and use of the futon an additional charge of £40 will be added to the agreed rate.
Stanley is the perfect get-away-from-it-all retreat. This quirky and cottagy-feel home is ideally suited for a family holiday, intimate couple break or for a group of friends wanting to enjoy the night life of Brighton or a chill time away from it all. It is also just 1-hour on the fast train from Victoria to Brighton.
Mothercare travel cot can be supplied which is suitable for a child up to 2 years. Small additional charge.
Superb fine dining pub in the next road (Setting Sun) which is family friendly and has amazing views over Brighton. This is perfect if you have not come away to slave over a hot stove... Also, cafe/deli around corner where you can pick up fresh bread and wonderful coffee, and a much needed local shop within 5 minutes walk. Sea front and centre of town 10-minutes walk but remember, this is Brighton, so coming back up the hill is less pleasant! Stunning Queen's Park around the corner which has ponds, ducks, and children's play area so is perfect for families to enjoy picnics and for the kids to burn off some steam.
Although bijou, the sitting room has luxurious deep-leather comfortable seating, a large TV, and a stereo system with speaker extensions into the kitchen, which creates a great ambience when you are cooking dinner or enjoying an aperitif in the patio area. There is an original feature fireplace, which although not in use, adds character. There is a vintage pub table so guests can bring in extra kitchen chairs and enjoy dinner in front of the TV.
Small but character fillled kitchen, with red and brown tiles and pretty accessories giving it that funky Brighton contemporary feel. It is fully equipped with everything for self catering. There is a small breakfast table suitable for 4 people and a washing machine and microwave.
The first bedroom overlooks the patio area at the back of the house. There is a large double bed, matching chest of drawers and bedside table, and lots of shelves and storage for your belongings. TV ariel in place but no TV provided - so bring your own and just plug in!
This is located at the front of the house overlooking the street. There is a large double bed, huge amount of hanging and storage space in the built-in wardrobes, and a glass desk next to the Wi Fi if you need to do some work whilst away. This room is easily big enough to have a cot so please speak to the landlord.
Bathroom (ground floor)
There is sadly only space for one bathroom in Stanley so come prepared to share! It is however a good size, decorated with stunning tiles, has a fast flowing shower over the bath, with washbasin, toilet and bathroom cabinet and shelving for toiletries.
The doors from the kitchen open onto the small patio area which has a built-in seating area for 2, a small table for eating and 2 extra chairs. Extra chairs can be brought out if required. This is a little sun-trap and wonderful to enjoy outside eating or an aperitif in the evening. Clothes line also provided. Space to store bikes but not covered.

Street is now residents parking only but neighbouring streets still have free parking or pay and display. Discuss with property owner.
There is a £300 security deposit payable above the rental fee. This is to cover any damages, breakages or extra cleaning. The deposit is returnable within 14 days of departure. A booking contract is supplied with a Terms and Conditions of booking document.

Brighton over the years has developed into a town with many types of entertainment and these continue to develop to keep pace with the changing demands of their modern visitors. Housed in its own beautiful Grade II listed building is The Theatre Royal This dates back over two hundred years and provides a mix of theatrical experiences for the visitor from Children's theatre to The Sound of Music with Mozart, Gilbert and Sullivan and Sleeping Beauty along the way. The enjoyment of the performance which you go to see has to be enhanced by the beautiful building in which it is given. This was given the Royal Assent by The Prince of Wales in the summer of 1806
At a further venue, The Gardner Arts Centre performances are given which feature contemporary dance and drama, along with visual arts, films, comedy and music. More typically-seaside entertainment can be found at The Pavilion Theatre where a range of entertainments is provided. This includes comedy, music, dance and theatre. Similar shows are also staged at the Komedia.
Eat, Drink and be Merry! The Brighton tourist Office tells us that the town boasts over 400 cafés and restaurants and walking around the streets leads you not to question this number. However, it's not just the number of places to eat which impresses but their variety. There's everything from the greasy spoons to the chic and elegant. For the family, there's the cheap and cheerful, offering a good meal at a reasonable rate while, for those with deeper pockets and a taste for the good life, there's many a place to dine in style while elegant cuisine and a pampering to suit an opera diva!
Hanover is situated on the hill with views over the whole of Brighton. It is a 10-minute walk down to the sea front and the centre of town. The area is full of quirky pubs, cafes, and a few local shops to get last minute provisions.

"Comfortable House, central location."
Myself, wife and 15 year old son spent a week at Stanley and thoroughly enjoyed it despite a few really nasty wet days, shows there's always something to do in Brighton. The house was very clean, nice hi-fi separates system, very well equipped throughout, comfortable beds, a nice touch was all basics were supplied, toilet rolls, soap, condiments, washing powder and coffee, so as you didn't have to rush out shopping straight away. Quite a few local pubs within a few minutes walk and just about ten minutes stroll down the hill and you are in the town centre where the action is. Just over fifteen minutes heading south and you are on the seafront with the Pier and shops and bars under the arches, No problems during our stay and Hilary was very easy to communicate with.

"cosy, welcoming and a great location"
Stanley was immaculately clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. It's just ten minutes downhill to the town centre and right next to a lovely park.

"Stanley - a holiday home to relax in"
Stanley was comfortable, clean and in a great location. The owner was very helpful and provided all the information we needed, including parking permits! We had our dog with us and Queens park was close and a walk to the beach was easy, though hilly coming back! We liked having an outdooor space for the dog and the neighbours were friendly and helpful. The sunshine was a bonus we had not expected!! The cafes and Deli's around the area were handy on days you did not want to go down to the town but equally kemp town and the coast were in walking distance. We would definately go back thank you.

"Relaxing stay in residential quarter"
My wife, 3 year old child and I stayed in Stanley in August during the Olympics and we would be happy to recommend it to others. The house is literally a 2 up, 2 down and has a really comfortable, relaxed feel, we immediately felt at home. There were no intrusive signs with instructions, always a bonus!
It's located in a residential area and will suit if you value additional space and facilities over absolute city centre location. The proximity of a large park with playground, gastropub and convenience store sealed the deal.
As other reviewers have said, there's the small matter of a hill to negotiate so we used taxis a couple of times later in the evenings - a fiver for three of us.
I found the owner to be extremely responsive and understanding as we booked late. We had one query on arrival which the owner promptly dealt with in person over the phone, so top marks all round.

"Great location, wonderful views of Brighton and the coastline. Cosy home with all mod cons, highly recommended."
"Stanley" was a very cosy home, tastefully decorated with all mod cons. I went there to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends in Brighton and it was very well located near Kemp town and not far from the seafront. The house is situated up a hill but it is actually a very nice walk with beautiful views over Brighton. There are some super places to eat nearby and Queens Park is a real bonus just around the corner which our children enjoyed. The owner was very helpful and responsive to all our questions, the directions were clear and some good information shared in the welcome pack. I would thoroughly recommend this property to friends, couples or young families alike to enjoy for a holiday or a short term let.

"Great place to stay"
The whole stay was enjoyable an had no problems. "Stanley" was very clean and comfortable. FREE WiFi! The owner was helpful, friendly and was available by phone in case we had questions or needed something.
You needn't a car. It's really easy to reach the beach and Brighton centre.
Everything was to our satisfaction.
