The South East England / Sussex region
Brighton is the liveliest, most cosmopolitan resort in the UK, situated on the south coast and with the spendid backdrop of the Downs Hills. The architecture is largely in a grand Regency or Victorian style and the centrepiece of town is the famous Brighton Pavilion with its exotic, royal history.
Dotted around the region are old Sussex villages with their quintessential English pubs, stately homes such as Glyndebourne, famous for its summer concerts and castles such as Arundel and Lewes. There are numerous days out to be had from Brighton such as by train to London, by ferry over to France, up to Legoland or Thorpe Park for the children or to the glorious beaches of West Wittering or Bournemouth.
Events happen in the region all year round. You can enjoy the Brighton Festival in the spring, the horse racing at Brighton or Goodwood, power beat races from the Marina end the numerous events that happen down on the beach throughout the summer.
Brighton and Hove / Brighton Marina area
The property is situated a very short walk to the Marina and a 10 minute walk into the town centre with its great shopping, cafe culture, beach with boardwalk, pier, Pavillion, the Lanes area and every type of night life you could hope for, from theatres to night clubs on the beach.
At the nearby Marina, the largest in the UK, there is a large ASDA which has just about everything you'll need for your holiday including for making an awesome barbie. There are plenty of other shops and restaurants, a casino, pubs and night clubs, bowling, American pool hall, a multi-plex cinema and a David Lloyd gym with swimming pool. You can also hire a speed boat or sailing boat or go on a fishing trip.
Down on the beach near the house is a new beach volleyball/football centre with a good cafe which really captures the summer atmosphere in Brighton.
Also near to the property is fashionable Kemp Town, a cosmopolitan area of cafes and gay culture. Up on the hill behind the house is the Brighton Race Course which makes for a fun day out betting on the horses or just enjoying the views over the sea and Downs.
