Home description

Cliff House 1 has five bedrooms and is extremely spacious and bright on three floors with great sea views. It sleeps 16 guests comfortably. Most of the bedrooms are very large so there is plenty of room for everyone and they are all stylish and comfortable with plenty of throws and cushions.

Downstairs there is a beautiful, relaxing lounge area. It is open-plan with an extremely well-equipped kitchen with top of the range appliances and a breakfast bar in front of a flat-screen with SKY+. You really feel on holiday drinking a capuccino on a bar stool looking out at the garden and chatting with friends. You can swing open the patio doors and guests can drift in and out from the lounge to the garden.

The deck is a great size with seating for 20 people so everyone can relax, eat, toast a special occasion or enjoy a BBQ. It faces south east and you can watch fantastic sunsets over the Channel. The deck leads down into a 100 foot garden where you can just chill and contemplate life.

Upstairs, there is a kitchen/diner with a table that seats 16 guests with sea views from all the windows and this is a super room for a dinner party. There is a flat screen TV in the corner and you can put a music channel on as background music. Both kitchens at the house are really well-equipped and are likely to have everything you've got at home. You can either lounge around on the sofas watching a movie on the flat-screen or sit round the table with friends enjoying a glass of wine. This is great for larger groups as no-one is on top of anyone else- the house is a really good size!

There's plenty of free parking in the road if you're driving down for your holiday and you can pick up wireless internet throughout the house and on the deck. The position of the house is brilliant - up above Brighton Marina with a little path around the back garden that takes you straight to the shops and the beach. it's also just a short stroll to the trendy Kemp Town area with its great shops and cafes. There is a real colourful, buzzy atmosphere walking down St James Street on the weekend and a huge selection of wonderful ethnic restaurants to choose from.

For sporty types, just opened down on the beach near the house is the Yellowave Beach Volleyball centre and for some unashamed posing, you can charter a top of the range speed boat down at the Marina. Also right behind the house is the East Brighton Golf Club which allows non-members to book a round.

The house is also proving very popular with Hen parties and we've had some great compliments about it! We can make the weekend even more special for your group by arranging for two beauty therapists to come to the house to give treatments at very reasonable prices. Also, let us know who the Hen is and we'll make her 'guest of honour' and put wine and chocolates in her room so she know that the weekend is all about her!

The South East England / Sussex region

Brighton is the liveliest, most cosmopolitan resort in the UK, situated on the south coast and with the spendid backdrop of the Downs Hills. The architecture is largely in a grand Regency or Victorian style and the centrepiece of town is the famous Brighton Pavilion with its exotic, royal history.

Dotted around the region are old Sussex villages with their quintessential English pubs, stately homes such as Glyndebourne, famous for its summer concerts and castles such as Arundel and Lewes. There are numerous days out to be had from Brighton such as by train to London, by ferry over to France, up to Legoland or Thorpe Park for the children or to the glorious beaches of West Wittering or Bournemouth.

Events happen in the region all year round. You can enjoy the Brighton Festival in the spring, the horse racing at Brighton or Goodwood, power beat races from the Marina end the numerous events that happen down on the beach throughout the summer.

Brighton and Hove / Brighton Marina area

The property is situated a very short walk to the Marina and a 10 minute walk into the town centre with its great shopping, cafe culture, beach with boardwalk, pier, Pavillion, the Lanes area and every type of night life you could hope for, from theatres to night clubs on the beach.

At the nearby Marina, the largest in the UK, there is a large ASDA which has just about everything you'll need for your holiday including for making an awesome barbie. There are plenty of other shops and restaurants, a casino, pubs and night clubs, bowling, American pool hall, a multi-plex cinema and a David Lloyd gym with swimming pool. You can also hire a speed boat or sailing boat or go on a fishing trip.

Down on the beach near the house is a new beach volleyball/football centre with a good cafe which really captures the summer atmosphere in Brighton.

Also near to the property is fashionable Kemp Town, a cosmopolitan area of cafes and gay culture. Up on the hill behind the house is the Brighton Race Course which makes for a fun day out betting on the horses or just enjoying the views over the sea and Downs.
