The South East England region

Brighton & Hove is a very popular place to visit with all round entertainment going on throughout the year. The Royal Pavilion is a must for first timers to visit as is Preston Manor and the Lanes, There is lots going on along the seafront at all times of the year. The Dome and Theatre Royal offer most interesting plays and shows. Every May there is, of course, Brighton Festival which is the largest festival in England. Brighton Pier is very well worth a visit too. The Regency Architecture is always interesting to study throughout the City.

Nearby you have the village of Rottingdean, a historic seaside 'olde worlde' village with shops, pubs, restaurants, a village green and pond, and the famous windmill to view. Rottingdean is only 3 miles to the East of Brighton.

The South Downs National Park is very close with its many charming downland villages to experience.

Brighton and Hove

Only 7 miles to the North East you come across Lewes, the County town of East Sussex, with its many steep little lanes and historic castle to see, plus old and interesting shops to enjoy.

About a half hour drive to the East you come to Newhaven with ferries to Dieppe in France, and then Seaford with its long and attractive shingle beach. Even slightly further on is the Victorian resort town of Eastbourne which is well worth a visit with its Bandstand with live music every evening during the Summer months. On Wednesdays you have Classical night with the 1812 overture complete with fireworks.

To the West you come to first the lovely old town of Arundel with its 900 year old castle and the interesting river setting followed by the County Town of West Sussex...Chichester with its magnificent cathedral.
