Chain Pier House
About the home
A luxury, lower ground floor apartment, being part of a beautifully maintained Regency building on the seafront, a short distance from the pier, in the bustling, bohemian district of Kemptown. The apartment provides an oasis of calm, with limestone flooring, under-floor heating, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher and washer-dryer), dining table with 4 chairs, wetroom, double bedroom and south facing patio. A sofabed in the sitting area sleeps an additional 2 people, if required (maximum of 4 in total).
A car is delightfully redundant when staying at Chain Pier House since so many attractions are within easy walking distance: the Pavilion, pier, sea life centre and the famous Brighton lanes are all close to hand, as is a multitude of restaurants, bars, cafes and wonderfully individual, boutique shops. The beach is literally opposite, across Marine Parade.

The South East England / Sussex region

East Sussex is a lovely county, rich in culture and heritage and blessed with one of the most favourable climates in the UK. Brighton & Hove City Council alone owns around 14,000 acres of countryside around the city, along with 80 miles of coastline, and, apart from the numerous attractions of the city itself, a stay in Chain Pier House provides a perfect opportunity for exploring all manner of delights, including, very locally, the South Downs and Ashdown Forest, both of which encompass areas of outstanding natural beauty.
www.tourism.brighton.co.uk will provide some great pointers of places to explore, as will www.visitsoutheastengland.com
The Brighton and Hove / Kemptown area
Brighton is a truly cosmopolitan city, with a vibrant, happy, tolerant atmostphere, reminiscent, perhaps, of continental Europe at its best. It offers a very special mix of city, culture and laid-back life on the beach!
Kemptown itself is one of the most up-and-coming areas of Brighton, with a funky mix of restaurants, bars, cafés and boutique shops. Brighton Pavilion is nearby, as is the Sea Life Centre, the famous Brighton Lanes, theatres, cinema and all of Brighton’s main shopping centres. Indeed, one of the delights of enjoying a break in Chain Pier House is that a car is simply not required and, in the unlikely event that one wishes to venture further afield, the bus station and train station are both within 15 minutes’ walk.

I could not fault this apartment, modern, spacious and clean! From start to finish the owner was very helpful, the price of the stay was reasonable and the housekeeper had kept the premises spotless and was at hand for any issues (biggest being......how do I connect to the internet as hubby wanted to watch sky sports!) the location was just perfect. we loved it so much that we asked to stay an extra night! all in all, a wonderful five days. Told friends that this place is highly recommended, you don't get a view but the small terrace was an added bonus and you are 30 seconds from the sea front front the apartment! LOVED IT! |
