The South East England / Sussex region
Brighton is the liveliest, most cosmopolitan resort in the UK, situated on the south coast and with the splendid backdrop of the Downs hills. The architecture is largely in a grand Regency or Victorian style and the centre piece of town is the famous Brighton Pavillion with its exotic, royal history.
Dotted around the region are old Sussex villages with their quintessential English pubs, stately homes such as Glyndebourne, famous for its summer concerts and castles such as Arundel and Lewes.
There are numerous days out to be had from Brighton such as by train to London, by ferry over to France, up to Legoland or Thorpe Park for the children or to the glorious beaches of West Wittering and Bournemouth. Events happen in the region all year round. You can enjoy the Brighton theatre festival in the spring, the racing at Goodwood, power boat races from the Marina and the numerous events that happen down on the beach throughout the summer.
Brighton and Hove / Brighton Marina area
The property is situated a very short walk to the Marina and a 10 minute walk into the town centre with its great shopping, cafe culture, beach with boardwalk, pier, Pavillion, the Lanes area and every type of night life you could hope for, from theatre culture through to night clubs on the beach.
Brighton is home to numerous restaurants from fine dining at Hotel Du Vin or Blakes to Harry Ramsden's fish and chip shop.
At the nearby Marina, the largest in the UK, there is a supermarket, plenty of shops and restaurants, a casino, pubs and night clubs, bowling, a multi screen cinema and a David LLoyd gym with swimming pool. Also near to the property is fashionable Kemp Town, a cosmopolitan area of cafes and gay culture.
On the hill behind is the Brighton Race Course which makes for a fun day out betting on the horses or just enjoying the views over the sea and downs from the stands. Within a short walk of the property is also a pitch and putt golf course, a full sized golf course and a park with football pitches, tennis, swings and a cafe.
