Lanes location: This stunning & unique cottage is the oldest house in Brighton, dating back to 1565.

Inspired by Victorian Alice in Wonderland with charming references to playing cards, key holes and looking glasses and every little luxury thought of... The bedrooms are soft and tactile with glistening wallpapers, silky bed throws, retro lamps and vintage accessories. It's the perfect choice for a visit to Brighton with the vibrant seafront, Jamie's Italian & other great restaurants only around the corner. Proving very popular with posh hen parties & girly get-togethers, it really is one of a kind and the very best of the city is all on your doorstep!

IMPORTANT NOTE: The central location means the area is lively and can be noisy at night, especially during summer weekends. Therefore we have supplied each room with complimentary ear plugs for light sleepers. Please bear this in mind before booking if you have children or are looking for a quiet get-away.

Whilst there is no dining room, the micro kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare & enjoy simple meals or a take-away on laps if you are not seduced out by all the fantastic restaurants in the immediate area.

Due to the age of this property, the cottage has low ceilings and narrow staircases. Sorry, no disabled access.

Further details outdoors

The property has a sunny little terrace with table & chairs for coffee & croissants in the morning or champagne in the twilight!

The house is situated down an old twitten lane (pedestrian alleyway). The fantastic central location means the area can be noisy at night, especially during summer weekends. Therefore we have supplied each room with complimentary ear plugs for light sleepers. If you have young children please bear this in mind, the location is not suitable for a quiet get-away.

The property does not come with a parking space although there are plenty of car parks in the immediate area.

The Lanes multi-storey car park on the adjacent Black Lion Street is very handy for the cottage. If you do not require your car throughout your stay (all the attractions are accessible on foot) it's worth coming by public transport or dropping off luggage and then free parking in the area of town known as Hanover (10/15 mins walk back to the cottage & seafront).

The South East England region

Brighton & Hove, Britain's favourite seaside city. Nestling between the South Downs and English Channel on the sunny south coast.

80 miles of coastline means super beaches for the family; here are lovely gardens, history and heritage; castles, abbeys, priories, stately homes and historic houses. There are family amusement parks and wildlife centres; the nostalgic, the curious and the simply fun, including museums of bygones, steam railways and caves. Sussex boasts numerous theatres and arts festivals, golf courses, horse racing, many ancient churches and buildings plus large Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty over the South Downs and Ashdown Forest, (including the soon-to-be-designated South Downs National Park) - and don't forget the Sussex Pub!

"location location location"

I have just returned from a long weekend in Brighton staying in the fabulous Looking Glass Cottage. What a gorgeous place to stay, and unlike anywhere I have ever stayed before. To call it charming would be an understatement, it is literally like walking into a fairytale and the photographs online don't quite capture the magic. It is quite tiny though, but it adds to the character of the property.

In terms of location, it literally could not be better. Bang in the centre of town you are spoilt for choices when it comes to eating, drinking and shopping.

One of the best weekends ever and I would recommend highly.

"Just perfect,"

Me and my friends stayed here for a short break and it was perfect! The Alice in Wonderland theme is fab and really adds some extra charm to the holiday. The house is right on the seafront, surrounded by restaurants and just a short walk into the main town and the lanes. Couldn't ask for better!

"Fabulous cottage, excellent location for a party weekend"

We booked th cottage for our friends Hendo, it didn't disappoint.
Excellently located near the lanes in Brighton, surrounded by pubs, restaurants & shops so excellent for what we wanted, however, wouldn't recommend or a quiet weekend retreat due to the noise from the near by pubs & the people using the lane for more than a cut through!

The cottage is so unique in it decor, great little quirks like the upside down wallpaper & the tiny door, cannot recommend it enough for a Girly weekend.

There were 7 of us so it was cosy but not too over crowded, showering did need to be planned but we weren't rushing so it was no problem.

If your lucky enough to be going to brighton with the girls we would thoroughly recommend the cottage.
Co-op is near by so you can stock up on the essentials & some excellent restaurants are in walking distance.

Enjoy!
