Sea Fizz holiday apartment
Apartment | 2 bedrooms | sleeps 4
Sea Fizz is a modern two bedroom apartment situated in Britannia Court in a gated residential area of Brighton Marina. The apartment has a light, airy feel with patio doors opening from the lounge onto the west facing balcony; the ideal spot to catch the afternoon sun or enjoy a sundowner after a busy day's sightseeing.
Your holiday begins the moment you arrive, we provide a “meet and greet” service to all our guests and will answer any questions you may have before leaving you to enjoy your holiday. You will be able to park your car in our private garage, adjacent to the apartment. We also provide extra parking permits free of charge for those who prefer to park outside or for parties with more than one car, using designated visitor parking spaces (marked “V”).
The Marina offers a wide choice of restaurants and bars as well as traditional pubs but for those evenings when you just fancy a quiet night in, you will find the kitchen well equipped. So whether it is a ready meal from the nearby supermarket or perhaps a fish supper prepared with locally caught fish, you will, hopefully, find everything you need.
A holiday is not a holiday without a good night's kip. Whether you're visiting for the weekend, short break, business trip or extended stay, you will love our luxurious, hotel quality beds. The hotel-style zip-and-link beds in both bedrooms can be made up as large doubles or singles. Whatever your choice, you can look forward to crisp hotel quality bed linen, white towels and complimentary toiletries. We have also thought carefully about our younger guests; we have bed guards and cots (but more of this later). Our master bedroom has an en-suite shower room, whilst our family bathroom also has a thermostatically controlled shower and bath - two bedrooms and two bathrooms, what more could you ask for?
There is free at Wi-Fi at Sea Fizz. So whether you are a teenager or business user, you have unlimited internet access during your stay.
Our high standards have not gone un-noticed by Visit Britain: Sea Fizz has been awarded Four Stars since opening in 2011.
As parents ourselves we have been on many self catering holidays over the years with and without children and so have a very critical idea of what makes a holiday, again, with or without little ones in tow, fun, relaxing and stress-free. I personally (that's me, Carol, with over 20 years experience working with babies and pre-school children) have striven to ensure that Sea Fizz is genuinely family friendly. So, Sea Fizz is equipped with travel cots, high chairs, dining booster seats, bed guards, steam steriliser, socket covers, children's cutlery, plates, bowls and beakers, toddler step, potty... as well as a selection of toys, books, games and DVD's. There is room in the garage for storing prams/ buggies and bikes. Sea Fizz has a Families Welcome Award from Visit Britain. We always welcome feedback from guests on how we can make our smaller guests even more welcome,
We can cater easily for twins with two of everything needed, leaving more room in the car for the things you want (rather than things you need) to bring. Why not give me a call to make sure that you only find room for what you need to bring to make your little ones as happy in Sea Fizz as we are sure you will be?
Sea Fizz makes the ideal base exploring the South Downs by bike or on foot. There is a footpath and traffic free cycle path right from the marina towards the east to Rottingdean, Saltdean and beyond and towards the west to Brighton and on to Hove. A short drive or bus ride will take you right up onto the Downs where will be rewarded with some beautiful walks and some breath-taking scenery. There are OS maps and leaflets illustrating many walks and cycle routes in the apartment. Bikes can be stored securely in the garage where you will find a puncture repair kit and pump if needed. Muddy boots can also be scrapped clean and stored here. Sea Fizz has Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome Awards from Visit Britain.

The South East England region
Nestling just under the South Downs, Brighton is the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Sussex coastline and countryside. The South Downs have been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and as a National Park provide a wealth of walking and cycling routes. Ditchling Beacon and Devil's Dyke are amongst our favourites; their dramatic scenery and views provide a good stating point for a hike or ride and the magnificent Seven Sisters chalk cliffs are only a short drive away. You will find OS maps and suggestions of routes in the apartment.
There are several historic sites including castles, country houses, gardens and parks only a short hop from Brighton; public transport links are generally good and guest have confirmed that to enjoy many of the local attractions a car is not only not essential but actually less convenient (many guests find that having parked their car in our garage on arrival, it remains there until it’s time to say a sad farewell to Sea Fizz and Brighton). Gardeners will enjoy Sheffield Park and Nymans, both owned by the National Trust
Lewes, the county town of Sussex, lies just a few miles outside Brighton. Famous for its enthusiastic bonfire celebrations in November (all the more spectacular as it competes with other other East Sussex towns for the best parade) it is a town rich in tradition and history. Situated on the river Ouse, it has been the home of the Harvey's brewery since 1790. Traditional Sussex ale is still brewed there today and visitors can take a tour of the brewery and learn about the brewing process. As real ale aficionados, if Harvey’s is on tap we will struggle to choose anything else. This is English real ale at its very best; if you don’t like this you will be doomed to lager drinking for eternity! Just outside Lewes is Charleston. This beautiful mansion now open to the public was once home to the Bloomsbury artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant.
Families can enjoy some super days out in the area. Drusilla’s, widely regarded as the best small zoo in the country, is 30 miles away in Alfriston. The Bluebell Railway, a heritage steam railway running through the heart of the Sussex countryside is 15 miles away. Thomas the Tank engine and his friends regularly welcome visitors here. This is extremely popular so we would recommend advance enquiry.
Brighton and Hove
Brighton is vibrant, colourful, cosmopolitan and creative and in its diversity it has something to offer every visitor from its regency charm to its buzzing night life. Brighton is a city of festivals with its Children's Festival in April, the Brighton Festival and Fringe in May and Brighton Gay Pride in the summer to name a few. The Brighton Dome, Brighton Centre and Amex Stadium host many major concerts and events throughout the year. Local music celebrity Norman Cooke aka Fat Boy Slim has headlined a number of major events in Brighton both at the beach and the stadium. There is the Theatre Royal, a charming theatre with many West End productions, the Duke of York's Picture House (Britain's oldest cinema) and the Komedia for theatre, comedy, cabaret and jazz.
Many visitors to Brighton come to shop, a pastime that people can and do take very seriously in Brighton. There is a vast selection of independent shops and boutiques, so if you are after something unique, this is very much you shopping paradise. In the North Laine area you will find a host of vintage and retro shops selling anything and everything, a truly fascinating and colourful place to shop or browse. In The Lanes there are many jewellery shops catering for the complete range of interests from antique, through contemporary to positively bohemian and quirky. Dotted amongst the shops you will discover wine bars, tea shops, cafés, restaurants (our particular favourite being Riddle and Finn’s seafood restaurant) and bars where you can rest your feet, take stock and refresh.
Brighton has been a fashionable place to visit since the 1800s, and many of its buildings date from this time. The Royal Pavilion, once the seaside playground of the rather naughty Prince Regent, later King George IV, with its grand domes and extravagant and indulgent interior Is a fascinating place to visit. This is really one of our favourites, we can’t help but go back every so often; we always find something new and we are never disappointed. The pier dates back to Victorian days and is still offers traditional seaside fun with fairground rides, penny arcade, candy floss and all the trimmings. The Brighton Wheel, one of Brighton's newest attractions is nearby and takes the rider high above the beach for a fantastic view of the coastline.
Brighton Marina is to the east of Brighton, just away from the main hustle and bustle of the city centre, but with over 20 restaurants and cafés (many with waterfront terraces), a cinema, casino, shops and a superstore there is plenty to do. There are also water sports and sailing schools, boat rides and fishing trips. Families will enjoy the Pirates Cove Adventure Golf, Bowlplex and playground, there is also the slightly eclectic Sunday morning boot fair on top the top level of the main Marina car park.
Sea Fizz is in the very tranquil, gated residential area just a short walk along the boardwalk (400m) from the many shops, bars and restaurants in the main marina area.
Transport links are good with buses into the city centre from the marina every 7 minutes during the day and less frequently at night time. During the summer season, the Volks Railway, Britain’s oldest electric railway, built in 1883, still takes passengers from just outside the Marina to the pier. It takes about 30 minutes to walk into Brighton centre from the Marina along the promenade which is punctuated with beachside cafés, art galleries, a play ground and beach volley ball centre.
