The Brighton SeaSlide
About the home
With a king double sofa bed, double and third single bed and linen selections from exotic to plain white, the apartment sleeps 1 to 5 people in comfort , in the heart of Brighton a short walk to the sea, with good quality bedding and in peaceful environs. Nightlife and Brighton excitement is right on the doorstop - you are in Central Brighton here! The north lanes bohemian markets and shopping area are a northerly walk, while the sea is at the end of your street and you can look down into it from your bedroom and front gate. A few minutes walk and you reach a swimming beach and the fascinations of the old Brighton Pier. Turn left to enjoy the beach cafe, wading pool, conference centre, Odeon, funfair and daredevil rides before you come to the New Brighton pier. Brighton's English Language school Sprachcaffe is in our street while FollowMe, Cambridge Advanced Certificate and other preparation courses at English Language School (elc-brighton co uk) are a short walk as are our conference centres, language centres and business venues. To return to the train station after your stay, stand at the bus stop round the corner from your flat!
The flat is round the corner from Brighton's 'main' road, Western Road, which is filled with boutique shops, the usual selection of chain stores, and a wide variety of arty cafes and restaurants. There is a 24 hour grocery store round the corner and some delicious Thai and Italian food at reasonable prices on your doorstop. A 42 inch TV screen makes for virtually cinematic viewing in the tiny loungeroom, which is nevertheless big enough to accommodate a 3-4 seater sofa which opens to a king double bed as well as a substantial bookcase, 4-6 seater folding dining table and 4 chairs - plus room to sit on the sofa! A selection of DVDs, games, books and cushions should keep you comfy!
Free internet is provided via a usb stick, and additional gigabytes can be purchased around the corner from the 24 hour store.
If you like cooking, you'll need to adapt to Brighton's tiny terrace house style, but you'll find the tiny kitchen well equipped with a full size steel electric cooker, good quality pots, frypan and utensils, glass chopping board and decent set of knives, the usual toaster, jug and microwave etc. as well as cutlery and crockery, while fresh herbs and exotic ingredients are right on your doorstep.
The Hoover washer and dryer will take care of your clothes washing needs, while an iron, airing rack and ironing board are provided for the truly masochistic.
You can pay by credit card and collect the keys close to the building, or have the maid show you around the apartment when you arrive, according to your preference or time of arrival.

Four deep shelves underneath the TV can accommodate electronic equipment. There is a bath as well as an overhead shower with unlimited hot water - no cold morning showers! Despite its location in Central Brighton, the flat gets little street noise, and only the calls of seagulls will wake you from your sleep as a rule!
If you like to sleep in, blackout blinds are fitted in addition to the bedroom curtains, and if you like to get the sun, you'll find the morning sun greeting you over breakfast in the lounge, while the afternoon sun will warm your bedroom in preparation for sleep! You can check the state of the sea from your bedroom window before venturing out in the morning!
Further details outdoors:
There's a heartening and peaceful view of the sea over the rooftops sitting in your bedroom by the window, though as seaviews go it's more a view of a tree, and the roofs of houses, with the sea behind. Secure Parking is round the corner 5-10 minute walk (they charge). Visitors can park opposite the apartment in the Waitrose carpark for up to 1.5 hours if they buy food there - look on the Waitrose carpark sign for full details. The Waitrose supermarket plus a 24 hour convenience store plus restaurants for all budgets and tastes are all right on your doorstop, while Brighton's famous lanes with their boutique shopping and cultural interests are a walk away. The beach and old pier is just at the end of your street. See the map to see exactly where we are!
Further details
BT FON pay and free wifi options have signals in the flat while The Cloud has also been reported as available. Free internet (wifi) is available in a cafe that serves excellent coffees around the corner, and a few metres away you'll find an internet cafe too. If your laptop doesn't have wifi a usb stick and codes are available by booking in advance (there is a surcharge of £20).
Parents, if you require any special facilities or have any concerns or requirements, please discuss them with us before finalising your booking.
Apologies, but the stairs up to the flat make it unsuitable for those with restricted mobility.

Brighton is a popular and slightly 'naughty' destination for seaside holiday makers and is well known for its Bohemian and alternative lifestyles, art and craft communities as well as its university culture and nightlife. From the mansions on the hills that overlook the town centre to the teeny terraces built within meters of the beach, Brighton has something to offer the walker, the photographer, the diver and snorkeller, as well as the beach and party goer. There is always something going on in Brighton and you'll always find a festival atmosphere. From the Brighton Festival Fringe to the Conference Centre, theatres and art galleries, there is some event for every taste most weeks of the year.
The Brighton and Hove / Central Brighton area
The Concorde2 is one of Brighton's most popular music venues and you'll find a listing of what's on available on the web. The Brighton Dome, Corn Exchange and Pavillion Theatre are all within walking distance, and when you tire of culture there is always the Old Pier relic to admire close to the end of your street, and the Pier -to - Pier beach walk taking in the beach cafes, markets, taverns and fairground entertainments as you work your way up to the Brighton Conference Centre and the Odeon cinema. Walk a little further and you'll reach the time honoured gaudiness of the new Brighton Pier with its games arcade, ice cream shops and curiosities. Turn with your back to the Pier to access the famous 'lanes', an area full of funny little boutique shops, blind turnings into tiny courtyards and relaxed pub atmospheres where a mix of students, artisans and friendly locals will generally keep you entertained.

We where 5 people staying at the Brighton Sea Slide. 3 young children and 2 adults. As a small budget self catering apartement it was perfect for us. One bedroom with 1 double and 1 single bed, and livingroom with a big pull out sleeping sofa, small, but well equipped kitchen, complete with a washer and dryer for clothes, and a cozy bathroom with bath tub and shower. I`d give a plus for a bit of board games, books and other cozy details, and also because it was possible to pay just a bit extra and get cleaning services and linen. The location of the flat is great, Just walk out the door and you`re practicalliy in the main shopping street. It`s also just a few minutes walk from the beautiful beach promenade, and plenty of restaurants nearby. If you`re not looking for 5 star luxury flat and a livingroom big enough to ecco your voice this is a brilliant place for your holiday stay. Response: We were delighted to be part of this family's Brighton experience - they were a pleasure to have as guests and the maid was delighted with their thoughtful touches when they left the apartment. Come back every year! |
