  • Nearest beach 1 km

A double room with juliet balcony doors overlooking the back garden and Beacon Hill beyond. It has a small double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk, arm chair , shoe chest and a fridge, toaster, kettle for basic food preparation and storage.

The room has simple decor of solid wood floors, shabby chic furniture and white washed attic style walls.

Guests are welcome to sit in the front garden, the house itself is situated in a rural area but only 10 mins walk to the seafront and 10 mins on the bus to Brighton centre.

All the bills are included and you get free high speed broadband connection in our house with your laptop or ipad :)

There are young children living in the other parts of the house, most of them are at school during the weekdays .

The Saxon village of Rottingdean is right on the beautiful Sussex coastline and has its own fascinating history to explore. The main village green and pond is surrounded by The Grange art gallery and museum, St Margarets Church, Kiplings Gardens and the house he lived and wrote in, North End House where Edward Burne Jones and later Enid Bagnold lived.

There are five pubs in the village, a variety of restaurants and numerous cafes and art galleries to enjoy as well as a Golf course, bowling, tennis and croquet to join in with. Spring is a perfect time to experience the Rottingdean Spring Music Festival, in the summer you can catch a show on the seafront Rottingdean Terraces stage and during the winter months, there is usually a show on at the village hall.

Alternatively, you can catch a bus into Brighton ( 10 min ride) to immerse yourself in all the things on offer throughout the day and night all year round!

To get the bus ( 12, 27, 14) to Brighton Pier it takes about 13 minutes and to Brighton Station it takes 20 minutes. The walk to the bus stop from our house is a pretty walk through the village to the seafront which takes about 10 - 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can get another bus no. 2 from the seafront to our house which is 10 minutes but this bus only goes every 20 minutes.

For 2 people, check out our other apartment in the marina Boat House - on floating jetty HOME ID 206599

The South East England region

The South Downs National Park is recognised as an area of outstanding beauty and is also home to a multitude of vibrant working communities steeped in history and traditional English culture. It combines a biodiverse landscape with bustling towns and villages and covers an area of over 1,600 km2.

Travelling to London only takes an hour by train or you can go east towards Dover or West towards the New Forest and beyond.

Brighton and Hove

Rottingdean is right by the beach and surrounded by the national park. There is plenty to do in the village, lots of walks in the surrounding area and only a short bus ride from the centre of Brighton

In Brighton there is so much to do and see and all within walking distance ! The Lanes have hundreds of quirky , individual little shops in amongst just as many cafes ...there is a taste for everyone. Brighton Pier is worth a visit or if you prefer something quieter, try the Pavilion or the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.

For theatre, you have The Dome, Theatre Royal , Komedia, several pub theatres and of course we must not forget Brighton Festival, one of Europes leading arts festivals which runs for 3 weeks every year or the fabulous Brighton Pride Festival in August .
