Carriers Stable was once a Victorian stable that has now been converted into a beautiful detached holiday cottage to accommodate ideally 2 people, and equipped to high standard, with good reviews. We can normally arrange discounted ferry bookings.

Situated in the rural south west of the Isle of Wight in the picturesque award winning village of Brighstone, near to forest and down, and within a mile of the sea AONB and Heritage Coast designation. There is a pub with restaurant, and another restaurant/bar in the village along with food shops and others all within easy walking distance and the area has excellent access to walking and cycle routes.

The cottage bedroom is located upstairs with a king size bed, ample cupboards, drawers and wardrobe space, television with Freeview Satellite Receiver, DVD player, clock radios and an en-suite shower room with latest electric thermostatically controlled shower for safety and temperature control.

Downstairs there is an open plan layout with kitchen, dining room and lounge area containing a one settee, sofa bed, television with Freeview Satellite Receiver, DVD player and CD/tape/radio player, large fridge/freezer, washer/drier, electric oven and hob, microwave and many other items, see web site.

French doors open out from the dining area onto a patio with garden furniture, garden, secure cycle rack (chain, lock, cover and some useful tools) and large drive. We have undertaken a new ECO approach with electricity saving initiatives.

"Wonderful cottage for 2"

The cottage is a wonderful place for a completely relaxing break.
It was impeccably clean and very well equipped.
Vanessa and Glyn were very welcoming and informative both about the cottage and local area.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather and found Brighstone a good place from which to explore the island; The coast is within walking distance, if you like walking but you really need a car if you want to go further afield.
The village has a good pub (friendly staff and locals!) and well-stocked post office which seemed to be open all hours and Sundays! There is also a village shop and café.
If the weather had been bad, we would have quite happily stayed in. There is a dvd player and a good selection of books to choose from in the cottage and a lovely wood burner effect fire - perfect for cosy nights in.
We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you, we welcome guests comments and suggestions. We have responded by installing a wired internet connection to Carriers Stable and it now has it's own WI-FI Router which gives it 6mb in all parts of the building according to BT's wholesale broadband speed test which is about maximum possible for our telephone line currently.

"A Splendid Holiday and Break to Remember"

Perfect in every way. Warm, cosy and comfortable, peaceful and quiet. We tried to think of something we might need that wasn't provided - there was nothing! We know why people want to return - we hope to be 2 more that do! We didn't want to leave! The pheasant paid us a visit along with many other birds which are a joy to watch from the kitchen window. Brighstone is beautiful and this has been the perfect base for exploring the island. Very nicely situated both for Newport for shopping and dining whilst being in lovely West Wight for the scenery and avoiding the very busy Eastern towns. 'Gold' award from the Tourist accreditation body is very well deserved.
