Further details indoors

The cosy living and dining areas have ceramic tiled floors, exposed wooden beams and pillars plus a cosy fireplace with woodburner and a solid wood beam mantle. Briarley also has central heating for those chilly winter months.

Briarley Cottage is equipped with your self-catering holiday in mind. The old world charm is continued in the beautiful handcrafted kitchen where a cream coloured Aga provides the perfect finishing touch. There is also a washing machine/dryer and microwave available for use. We understand that although an Aga is a “dream appliance” that it can also be a little daunting, so we have provided a guide on how to operate it at the cottage for you.

Upstairs the cottage has two lovely bedrooms with those essential exposed beams, one double room and one twin room, with a cot available if required. Cosy up in the windowseat in each room and you will have distant sea views, across the village and fields.

Further details outdoors

The large gardens at Briarley Cottage are fully enclosed and secure. There is a pretty lawn surrounded by flower beds as well as a paved patio area perfect for outdoor dining. Off road parking is available for one car with further parking available on the street.

The Isle of Wight region

Discover Brighstone, with the nearby smaller village of Brook and the hamlets of Hulverstone, Mottistone and Limerstone, to enjoy rolling chalk downland and the soft cliffs of the south-west coast of the Isle of Wight.

Walk or ride around the area on a myriad of footpaths, bridleways and cycle routes. Enjoy beaches which are also well known for the fossils that can be found there. Walk with care along the edges of the cliffs or try paragliding or surfing to see them from different angles. Stride over downland or stroll through woodland inhabited by Red Squirrels.

See picturesque chalk clunch cottages and peek into beautiful old churches or stroll around the scented gardens of an Elizabethan manor house.

In Brighstone’s North Street, a picturesque row of thatched cottages includes the village Post Office, the public library and a free museum detailing the lives and pursuits of local families.

The quintessential Isle of Wight village, Brighstone is a vibrant friendly community and a popular holiday destination. The village lies within an Area of Outstanding Beauty, and its coastline is designated as a Heritage Coast and Site of Special Scientific Interest. With over 80 Listed Buildings, Brighstone is full of charm and history.

Well catered for with ammenities, Brighstone has a lovely village pub, The Three Bishops, plus a cafe/bar "Seven", located the village centre. There is also 2 village shops, providing all your grocery needs. In the neighbouring village of Hulverstone is The Sun Inn, a beautiful thatched pub.
