Brienno area
For those who just wish to take in the sun and relax or just go for a lazy stroll to walk of that lunchtime gelato then Lake Como offers the perfect holiday to achieve a relaxing chill out break. However for holidaymakers who like to explore there is plenty of variation on offer from visiting medieval churches to browsing at the many Italian boutiques in nearby Como town famed for its silk and leather, talking a boat ride for a spot of dinner on one of the many lakeside villages to climbing the mountains high above the lake!
Brienno is situated next to the lake The main lake road runs in front of the apartment and takes you to Argegno, a pretty fishing village with restaurants, ferry accessing the whole lake, cafes, bars, post office, bank, geletaria. We can recommend our favourite restaurants and bars etc to help you get the most from your stay-please ask for details based on your requirements. Choose from Villa Carlotta, 20 minutes from the apartment with its acres of beautiful lake facing gardens, Villa Balbinello in Lenno (15 minutes drive)for romance and relaxation (James Bond seemed to favour the latter in the recent Casino Royale production filmed here last summer)
Bellagio never fails to disappoint and offers a great excuse to take the water ferry across the lake. Marvel at its picturesque promontories, cobbled streets and fine art shops all with lake views par excellence.
Drive down to Cernobbio for an idyllic Sunday afternoon stroll. Menaggio, with its pretty palm lined walkways it another pretty lake village worth exploring.
