The Bridport / Bettiscombe area
Situated on the edge of the Marshwood Vale, close to the borders of Somerset and Devon, the small, rural Dorset hamlet of Bettiscombe makes an excellent holiday destination. Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this location offers an abundance of footpaths through the beautiful rolling hillside. Nearby is Pilsdon Pen, one of Dorset's highest points, providing fantastic views of the area from its peak. A seven mile drive through quiet country lanes will take you to the market town of Bridport, renowned for the manufacture of fishing nets and ropes. Today, the town is home to a good selection of shops and restaurants and has been regularly featured on the television show, 'The River Cottage'. With West Bay and Lyme Regis just a short drive away, this is also a great place from which to set out exploring the Jurassic coast, now a world heritage site.

Property was warm and everything worked beautifully. The kitchen was particularly well stocked with all mod cons and cooking equipment. The owners were very welcoming but did not intrude. That part of Dorset is lovely and so quiet and peaceful. Local pubs serve very good food and the markets and farm shops are excellent. As it was Winter the seaside places were 'closed' but West Bay beach is glorious.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
