The West Country region

West Dorset remains unspoilt in the immediate area is a thriving community. Market day on Wedneday and Saturday, well know names appearing in both the Art centre and the Electric palace, we still have butchers , vegetable shops and fish merchants all just a 10 - 15 minute walk away

Just a 10 minute walk south is the busling busy harbour of West Bay with the Coastal Path going through it, the start of Chesil Beach and its leasure beaches

Bridport is famous for the manufacture of nets, rope and twine which have been produced since the 13th century.

It boasts a leisure centre with swimming pool complex, thriving arts centre and museum.

The historic towns of Lyme Regis and Dorchester are a short drive away, Somerset and Devon are very close by. In short, Eypeleaze is the ideal base from which to explore.

Most of West Dorset is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty – from The Jurassic Coastline – England's first Natural World Heritage Site famous for it fossils to the rolling hills, home of the Cerne Giant.

Activities include: swimming, clay pigeon shooting with instruction, sea-fishing, fossil-hunting, horse riding, golf, (guests receive preferential green fees), numerous walks along the heritage coast line including Golden Cap ( the highest point on the south coast) and inland through the Marshwood Vale.

Among the places of interest are: Kingston Lacy, Milton and Forde Abbey. Mapperton Gardens, Athelhampton, Kingston Maurward Park, Clapton Court Gardens, Maiden Castle, Sherborne Castle, Hardy's Cottage, Broadwindsor Craft Centre,The Swannery and Sub Tropical Gardens at Abbotsbury. Various museums including The Dinosaur, The Dorset, The Tutankhamun, The Fleet Air Arm and the Tank Museum…
