Less than a mile from a World Heritage coast, Cockcrowing Cottage is ideal for families, couples or a group of friends.The cottage boasts an Inglenook fire place, enormous, cast iron, roll top bath incorporating a shower with 2 curtains & an enclosed balcony with fantastic views.The garden is laid to lawn, ideal for children and is bordered by mature shrubs and trees.The gravel driveway is the perfect place to play boules with still enough parking for two cars.The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there are some great producers and farm shops locally.
Public footpaths surround the area offering great walks for all abilities. Two swimming pools are located within a mile of the cottage for those wet weather days or there is a selection of DVD's and board games at the cottage if you fancy staying in by a log fire.

The cottage boasts many period features and has been decorated tastefully and is hopefully a warm welcoming place. The handcrafted wooden kitchen also has a large pine dining table with 6 chairs, gas hob and electric oven. It has a welsh tiled floor and is well equipped for cooking.
The living room has two sofas and two armchairs, inglenook fireplace, sympathetic lighting, TV, DVD and music system.
The ground floor bathroom is tiled black and white throughout with fantastic roll top bath (with shower), pedestal sink, toilet and ebony floor.
The two upstairs bedrooms boast cathedral ceilings, wardrobes, plenty of cupboard space, wooden floors and rugs.
The ground floor bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and wooden floor with rug.
On the balcony there is a table with chairs for sitting and enjoying the superb views.

The cottage has various scented climbing plants which smell fabulous during the summer months with the windows open. Large secure garden laid to lawn and bordered by mature shrubbery with large heavy gates (with secure latch) backing onto open fields. Great for playing games or sunbathing. Gravel driveway is ideal for playing boules with still enough parking for 2 cars.
First floor enclosed balcony at the rear of the house with views over the garden, fields and open countryside. A lovely place to sit out and as there are no street lights, the sky at night is phenomenal.

Extra charge for dogs - £20 per dog / week (please clean up after your dog).
Full gas central heating. Initial logs supplied for your first fire ,October to March.
Please arrange for highchair/cot/foam beds on booking.
It is advised that children are supervised when the inglenook fire is lit, even if using the fire screen.

A 25% non-returnable deposit is taken upon booking to secure reservation. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. Terms and conditions apply and will be sent upon receipt of deposit. We recommend that you purchase holiday insurance to provide cover in case of cancellation.

The Jurassic coast is a beautiful area , rich in history and incredible geology.There are fantastic walks and beautiful untouched beaches.
Bridport is an old rope making town with a creative heart. There are a number of art galleries in the area and there is always something on at the Arts Centre.
The Bridport / Eype area
Cockcrowing Cottage is an ideal base for a holiday in the West Country.The vibrant artistic town of Bridport boasts ,The Bridport Arts Centre &The Electric Palace for music,theatre,cinema and comedy, and the Beach & Barnicott and the Bull for great food and weekly entertainment plus many other bars , pubs and cafes.A monthly vintage market takes place on the last Subday of each month in the Vintage Quarter.Each Wednesday and Saturday is market day offering a mix of food, collectables and new items.
The whole area is outstandingly beautiful with many walks such as Langdon Wood,Stonebarrow Hill and for the adventurous Golden Cap,the highest point on the Dorset coast.
The quaint seaside town of Lyme Regis is 9.3 miles away with Charmouth enroute which is well worth a visit as it is a great place for fossil hunting.
West Bay is a great place for fishing trips or crabbing with the children.
Bridport has many events throughout the year such as the annual Hat Fair and the Carnival and Torch Light Procession.
