About the home

Pear Tree Cottage is our much loved cottage in a beautiful part of West Dorset. A real home-from-home!
The cottage, parts of which date back 400 years and reportedly was way back an old beer house, comfortably sleeps 6 in 1 ensuite room with Kingsize bed and two twin bedded rooms. The lovely views from the bedroom windows are over some of the typical rolling hills of West Dorset. The pretty village itself is a conservation area situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The cottage provides ideal accommodation for families. The garden has a patio perfect for a BBQ and catching the last of the evening sun and sitting out with views to the hills. The lawn is on a gradient and the master bedroom has it's own decking area with table and chairs leading from the french doors and is a great sun-trap in the morning - perfect for a coffee or leisurely breakfast!
Pear Tree Cottage doesn't try to be anything it's not! Our regular guests who go year after year love it for it's simplicity and comfort with their families and because it's a perfect base for enjoying all that West Dorset has to offer.

The West Country / Dorset region

West Dorset has some breathtaking scenery, interesting history and heritage, and plenty of activities in the area. It is a most beautiful part of England.

The Jurassic Coast is ideal for fossil hunters and families and there are holiday activities at Lyme Regis and West Bay. Lovely walks and watersports too! Lovely beaches within a 15 minute drive of the cottage.

Wander around the lovely coastal towns which offer some interesting architecture, good shopping and plenty of lovely cafes to stop for refreshments! Explore West Dorset's many ancient sites, from Iron Age fortresses to Roman amphitheatres. Pay a visit to one of West Dorset's most well-known residents, the imposing 180ft Cerne Giant! A visit to Lyme Regis. West Bay, Burton Bradstock all worthwhile. Lovely coastal walks and fantastic views from the famous Golden Cap.
