Northern England region

The Yorkshire coastal towns of Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington have been attracting visitors for hundreds of years who come to enjoy the miles of clean sandy beaches, pretty fishing ports and to walk along magnificent cliff top paths. The picturesque fishing port of Whitby is noted for its narrow streets and cliff top abbey which dominates the skyline and is well known as the place where Bram Stoker was inspired to write his famous novel ‘Dracular'. Further south lies Scarborough which offers two horseshoe bays both with stretches of golden sands and plenty of amusements and activities; which are ideal for the perfect family holiday. All along the coast visitors will be able to find a contrast of family friendly resorts and quieter little fishing ports which, all in all, offers something for everyone.

As well as all the variety onsite, Flamborough also offers many different activities. Flamborough head is a beautiful area to visit with amazing history which includes an eight mile walk to the lighthouse which is said to have been built in 1673. From here you can take in the spectacular views. There is also a local beach which is great for a family day out! On either side of Flamborough is Bridlington and Filey. Bridlington also offers plenty of historical places of interest such as Bridlington Priory, Burton Agnes and Sewerby Hall which all offer extremely interesting information about our history. There are a variety of events held throughout the year including pantomimes and concerts. Walking is a popular thing to do in Bridlington which offers a huge variety of walks to suit all different types of abilities. For brilliant ideas for the whole family, the leisure world also offers a fantastic place for great fun with water slides, wave pools and many more. A small theme park is also based in this town to suit all family members. Filey is also situated near Flamborough and is full of different activities and attractions. Filey's museum offers an insight into the history and all about why it is such a popular fishing village. After taking in all this history, there is nothing better than tasting the local fish and chips for yourself! The local gardens are also a beautiful area to discover which is right next to the beach. Local shops offer a variety of items for the beach for those wanting to build sandcastles, play with footballs or badminton rackets or simply relaxing on the beach. There are plenty of great, fun activities on offer around the area of Flamborough which makes it such a fantastic place to visit!
