The Yorkshire region

Yorkshire really does have it all – its national parks cover nearly one fifth of its land area, it has more than 800 fascinating family attractions and dozens of quirky towns and villages, each with their own story to tell. Dubbed “the foodie capital of Britain” by the editor of The Good Food Guide, the county has even been blessed in the fine dining department, and our Yorkshire holiday cottages are perfect for walkers, families and those who just want to enjoy its beauty. The landscape is dotted with intriguing ruins and historic sites, and the rugged terrain means there's plenty of opportunity for adventurers to try something daring. Yorkshire has more than 300 miles of way marked walking. Thousands of walkers take on the Three Peaks Challenge every year. The dramatic York Minster took 252 years to build

Bridlington

Bridlington is one of those friendly Yorkshire pockets that have barely been touched by time, and that means it offers its visitors a character that's unlike any other destination. Two sandy beaches, traditional family attractions and striking coastal scenery make this historic town a firm favourite all year round, and it hosts unique annual events that celebrate its charm with all the warmth and enthusiasm we love Yorkshire for. Bridlington holiday cottages are perfect for those of you keen to get a taste of a bustling Yorkshire town in all its glory. Bridlington Dickensian Festival is an annual event. The Georgian Rooms restaurant features in the AA Guide. Bempton Cliffs, nearby is a nature reserve rich in bird life
