Cannington Grange
About the home
Featured here are 3 of our larger properties - Ruscombe Hall (sleeps 10 plus cots), Toad Hall (sleeps 8 plus cots) and Shepherds Cottage (sleeps 7 plus cot).
The properties are set within 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens, and have shared use of very good on-site facilities - an indoor heated pool/ hot-tub/ sauna complex, a games room, fishing lake, outdoor play equipment and tree-fort.
In addition to the facilities we provide, we are ideally located for exploring all that this part of the West Country offers - we are about 15 mins from the M5 and have private access onto the A39 Coast Road.
There are several very good beaches - the closest being approx 15 mins away, with Minehead - which has an excellent beach for families - being about 35 mins away. Of particular interest should be Kilve - part of the Jurassic coastline and ideal for fossil hunting.
There are numerous visitor attractions within easy reach - Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Crealy Adventure Park etc, plus at 5 National Trust properties within an hours drive.

Enquire nowThe West Country / Somerset region
Ruscombe Hall is set at the foot of the Quantock Hills, Englands first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - taking the coast road will lead you past numerous beaches (including one for fossil hunters) and small villages - Dunster and its castle, Minehead, Porlock and Exmoor are all less than an hours drive.
There are theme parks within driving distance (Crealy Park is about an hour, Longleat about an hour and a quarter), but much closer are places such as Cheddar, Wookey Hole or Glastonbury Tor.
There is an excellent outlet shopping village at Street, and Bristol with its Cabot Circus, or Cribbs Causeway, are all close by.
The Westcountry is, quite rightly, the No.1 holiday destination in the UK., and we are very well placed for exploring it.
The Bridgwater area
Bridgwater, whilst in itself not a holiday town, does host the largest illuminated carnival in Europe, second only to the Rio Carnival - this takes place in November and is truly impressive - it is the birthplace and home of Squib running, gaint carnival fireworks on poles - this should be on everybody's 'must see' list.
Once through Bridgwater, the area changes to countryside - our village of Cannington has a shop, a post office, a butchers, a bakers and a newsagents, plus 3 pubs within the village and numerous others just outside.
The road from Cannington carries on all the way to Minehead, then on to Exmoor and into North Devon. It gives access to a number of good beaches, Kilve is about 15 mins away and is unusual in that it is part of Jurassic coastline, so is perfect for fossil hunting. Beyond that lies Watchett, Blue Anchor, Dunster and then Minehead itself, all sandy.
Within Cannington are some good facilities, a golf course, the Walled Garden visitor gardens, paintballing, to name a few.
We can also suggest beauticians, shooting (shotgun), horse riding for adults or children, and there are several good places to eat - including some pubs who do genuinely home-cooked still.
You wont be bored here!
