About the home

The Acland Hotel four bed Cottage is situated in the historical and attractive village of Stogursey. There are many interesting places that are just a short drive away, like Dunster, with its castle, shops and tea rooms, Cleeve Abbey and Porlock with its quaint harbour and also Exmoor National Park. Linked to the campsite in Somerset with FREE Swimming Boating and Entertainment

The amenities at Mill Farm campsites in Somerset are available to all guests staying at the Acland (less than 2 miles away). As specified below:

FREE - Indoor Heated Tropical pool and two outdoor pools, with a Giant Water Slide. There is also a shallow boating lake, sand pit, games room, swings and slides. Please ask about availability when you book.

For hire - ponies, canoes, trampolines and pool tables. The Club with entertainment open during bank holidays, high season, and most mid-season weekends. The hot take-away is available every day during high season and on Friday evenings during mid-season.

Further details

Holiday deposits are non-returnable. Deposit is 50% of the stay plus a £3.00 booking fee. The letting period is from 4pm on Friday to 10am on the last Friday of occupation unless otherwise agreed. Electricity is supplied by meter £1 or £2 coins.

Please have your card details to hand. The balance is to be paid 28 days prior to arrival. If the owner does not receive full payment by the due date, the owner reserves the right to re-advertise and re-let the accommodation. Only the number of persons listed on the booking form is permitted to occupy the booked accommodation.
In the event of the accommodation not being available for any reason whatsoever, the owner shall in no circumstances make a refund greater than the amount paid to the owner. We regret we cannot accept responsibility or pay compensation under these circumstances and we are not responsible for securing alternative accommodation. The proprietors reserve the right to change/amend accommodation or facilities where necessary (This includes the amenities at Mill Farm campsites in Bridgwater Somerset). You are strongly advised to insure your holiday in case you have to cancel due to sickness or other unforeseen events.

The West Country / Somerset region

There are many interesting places that are just a short drive away, like Dunster, with its castle, shops and tea rooms, Cleeve Abbey and Porlock with its quaint harbour and also Exmoor National Park.

The climate typically experiences cool winters with warmer summers and precipitation all year round, with more experienced in winter. Summer temperature range from 18 °C to 22 °C and winter minimum averages range from 1 °C to 4 °C across the south-west. Government organisations predict the region to rise in temperature and become the hottest region in the United Kingdom.

The Bridgwater / Stogursey area

Bridgwater Bay, with its vast mudflats and salt marshes attracts large number of wintering waterfowl. The fossil rich beaches at Stolford and Lilstock are also very popular with local fishermen and coarse fishing is available at Burton Springs, approximately ¼ mile from the Shurton Inn.

The Quantocks are a paradise for walkers, mountain bikers - sporting parties or simply relaxing taking in the amazing views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales & Brecon beacons. The landscape is of extraordinary natural beauty and dramatic coastal scenery.

By rail: Some Intercity trains stop at Bridgwater but you may need to get a connection service from Taunton.
