Home description

The cottage, situated next to an old corn mill, was originally a mill keeper's home and sits beside the River Rea. Prescott Mill Cottage has a delightful garden that fronts onto the river, and the cosy accommodation includes three bedrooms, one of which is king size; a fitted kitchen, and a warm and welcoming sitting room with a multi-fuel stove.

The cottage is situated in an extremely peaceful spot that is ideal for the whole family. Fascinating wildlife watching and opportunities for many outdoor pursuits are available from the doorstep. The owners live next door in the old mill and are happy to welcome their visitors.

The Heart of England / Peak District / Shropshire region

Shropshire delights with its variety. Whether exploring the castle, narrow streets or fine dining of Ludlow, strolling by the river in medieval Shrewsbury or discovering delightful Church Stretton, Bridgnorth or Bishops Castle, you can be assured of plenty to see and sample. Even the museums and attractions are wide ranging; from the industrial investigations to ecologically informative nature centres, and even the chance to step back in time and visit a working Victorian village.

Even the landscape alters, from the hills, heaths and deep wooded valleys of the Welsh borderlands to the magnificent, moorland scenery of the Long Mynd, while the beautiful Teme, Clu, Corve and Onny valleys host an amazing variety of wildlife. You can even take a walk on the wild side among the legendary Stiperstones, at Wenlock Edge and within the stunning Clee Hills.


Bridgnorth / Stottesdon area

Cleobury Mortimer is a pretty little town located in the picturesque heart of rural South Shropshire. The town is most well known for its unusual church, which features a strange crooked steeple, and the community also offers a great choice of individual shops, pubs and restaurants to tempt all tastes and budgets. Bridgnorth and Ludlow with its castle are close by, and both are interesting historic market towns with plenty of attractions for visitors.

The famous World Heritage Site of Ironbridge and its 10 interesting museums is also within easy reach. Those who love the outdoors have lots to do in this area, including horse riding, golf and fishing, and there are superb walking opportunities locally in the Clee Hills and the Wyre Forest.

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the Winter period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.

Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the Low and Mid periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.

Last Minute Breaks (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the LOW, MID, HIGH, PEAK, XMAS and NEW YEAR periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

"Yet again we had a great time. The fires of a night were fabulous and a again wonderful welcome on arrival. It was fabulous to be able to sit out in the garden with the dog, who felt quite at home. Ease of parking and able to get around by car. An extremely picturesque part of the country, with excellent walking with various nearby footpaths. The local shop at the Fighting Cocks in Stottesdon, accommodated all our needs. A firm favourite, with friendly and caring owners just next door."
