The West Country / Devon region
The Park is situated between Okehampton and Launceston and is 3 miles from the A30 within easy reach of the M5. Dartmoor is within walking distance and there are views of Dartmoor from the Park. Tavistock is also close where there is a market and plenty of shops. Well worth a visit.
Bridestowe area
Bridestowe is a very pretty village with a Pub, serving good food. There is a Post Office/Shop/Newsagents.
Okehampton has a full size swimming pool. There is also a cinema and many other attractions for visitors. Several Arts and Craft centres are in the area where Devon craftsmen can be seen at work.
There are several golf courses in the vicinity - the closest being Ashbury.
For horseriders, there are several Riding Schools in the area.
Fishing is available at Meldon Reservoir - 3 miles from the Park where there is also a picnic area. River fishing is also available nearby.
Sailing and lessons are available for both adults and children at Roadford Lake.
For those who like guided walks, a number of starting points are nearby.
There are also cycle tracks, the closest being Granite Cycle Path No. 27. Cycle hire can be arranged from the site, with cycles being delivered and collected from "The Manor" by the Cycle Hire Company.
The Tors are great starting points for those keen on hang gliding.
There is an information file in the caravan detailing many local activities and places of interest.
How to get there
M5 to Exeter - A30 to Launceston - come of at the exit signposted to Tavistock A386 - then on to old A30 signposted to Bridestowe - 3 miles from Okehampton.
