Bracken Lodge is perfectly situated within the exclusive 40 acre estate where privacy, peace and tranquillity are taken for granted. We encourage guests' access to explore certain areas of the private ancient woodland walks around Gludy Lake and grounds which boast a fantastic display of spectacular wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for one of our resident kingfishers and the otters and ospreys feeding at the lake.
If you are privileged enough Dave our peacock (or Dafydd to his friends) may proudly display his full plumage for you to see! Watch the fish rise to the evening hatch of flies, the families of widgeon, teal and mallard at the edges of the lake and in the skies above, you may be lucky enough to see the Red Kites soar on the thermals.. Spend a little time foraging wood from the extensive woodland walks and in the evening, weather permitting, why not dine al fresco, making use of our patio area furnished with a stylish teak table and chairs seating six guests.
Our stone BBQ / fire pit has proved a popular method of cooking by our guests, converting to a cosy campfire once the meal is devoured. Other things taking up your time during the day? - Don't worry - we're happy to provide a generous stack of pre-cut logs for you by prior arrangement.

"I wish I could live there !"
Absolutely superb setting along side a large lake. Fantastic wildlife , we saw Herons, cormorants and a king Fisher to name but a few. The lodge itself is fairly basic but has everything you need for a great holiday. The property manager was most helpful and is quite an authority on the local wildlife. We have booked again to go later in the year when hopefully the weather will be a little warmer
