The Colorado/Rocky Mountains region

Say “Colourado,” and the first thing that comes to most people’s minds is skiing. The U.S. Continental Divide — spine of the Rocky Mountains — slices through Colourado, creating some of the world’s best skiing terrain and scenery.

Colourado offers a wide range of skiing options and resorts to fit every ability and pocketbook — from snazzy, jet-set Aspen and Vail to homey, “the-way-it-used-to-be” Ski Cooper and Loveland. Skiers can choose from enormous ski areas with so many runs and lifts that they can’t all be skied in a day to small areas that take only a few hours to figure out. Some areas are complete resort villages or historic towns unto themselves; others are for day visits only. There are also special sections on Telluride, Steamboat Springs and Durango.

But don’t think Colourado’s snow country is reserved just for skiers. These mountains have lots more to offer than days spent dodging moguls. Choose from traipsing through the woods in snowshoes, zipping along in a snowcat or snowmobile, relaxing while horse or dog teams drag your sleigh, careening downhill in an innertube or gliding across a icy lake in skates.

The adventures aren’t over when the winter snows melt. That’s when you lace up your hiking boots, grab your fishing poles, backpack and tent and take to the glorious mountains once again.

Breckenridge area

Outdoor adventure selections range from skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding and snowmobiling in the winter to summer recreation of hiking, biking, golf and horseback riding to name just a few. Further details indoors:
ON THE MAIN LEVEL there is a subdued-elegant living room hosting vaulted ceiling and 20 ft rock fireplace. Immediately adjacent is the spacious dining room with easy seating for over ten people, to say nothing of the breakfast table for 5 and the breakfast bar for 4 more. The kitchen serves all needs, with its spans of granite and cabinets and the mesh of all high-tech appliances that befit the finest restaurants.

The Main Level also has two large master bedrooms - with king beds, gas stoves, TV-filled armoires and access to the patio facing a quilt of pine trees. The Master Bathroom is 'to die for'. The patio will produce contentment in the 10 seating hot tub, while grilling steaks on the bar-b-q, or simply sitting and contemplating how not to go home.

THE UPPER LEVEL is just for two activites. The KidZone is a "wow!" surprise. Unofficially designated as "adults by invitiation only", it houses TV, DVD, foose ball, game-cube, basketball hoop, hang-out space and plenty of bunk beds, trundles and puzzle beds with pillows for 12. It even has its own private bathroom. The door under the "KidZone" sign, separates the study-atmosphere of business needs: email checking, Googling, copying, faxing; or just quiet reading or snoozing.

THE LOWER LEVEL has more King size suites and bathrooms. And, it has THE GREAT ROOM: Oversized TV, full-sized pool table, fireplace, pub table, wet bar, and plenty of space to sit or dance.

Further details outdoors:
Outdoor porch around front of home, seating and barbecue outside. Goreous ancient pine trees behind home.
